I am seriously considering changing my blog to private. I'm starting to feel like so many random people can just stop by and see my son. I think that's great as long as they aren't crazy people. However, I've become allot more protective since I had Cooper.
Anyways, I would still hope that the girls that I keep in touch with through their blogs and the longtime followers will request to follow my private blog. If you are someone that I follow or who has followed me for a while please do request to follow once its private. I am just trying to keep my personal pictures from being out there for anyone to Google and pull up.
I'll be doing this sometime in the next week probably. So if you would like to follow once I'm no longer public my blog is http://ivfinfertility.blogspot.com/
Has anyone else done this and do you feel like it was a good move?

I know i can google images of key words from my blog and all kinds of my pics are on there.

I've flipped-flopped on this issue. Sometimes I worry that I have too much info out there and I have considered going private. But then again, I love all the friendships and relationships that I've built since I started blogging.
Once you go private, I've noticed that there really isn't any way for someone to contact you if they want to follow your blog. You get that message that says, "this blog is private...blah blah blah...contact the author if you think this is a mistake." Since there isn't any way to contact that person, you can never see their page.
I think there are some ways to protect yourself if you want to be able to remain open to readers such as using one of those copyright copyscape organizations on your blog and putting a watermark on your photos. I have yet to figure out how to do that on my digital photos, but I see this on many blogs and it is something I plan to add to my pics as well. B/c you're right...just anyone can see your pictures if they are googling certain info.
If your blog is primarily for just close family and friends and the new blogging friends you've made over the past year or so than I say go private.
Another option would be to make this blog private and create another one if you are wanting to blog about general baby items/parenting issues/decorating, etc.
Just some things to think about, but definitely let me know where to send you an email address if you wish to add me as a follower when you go private!

I thought about it but I have so many friends and family and randomly look at it that it is a little more difficult. But make sure to add me as I want to still stay in touch and keep up with your life. I feel like for me I have made so many friends through the blog world that I don't want to cut people out that I could potentially make a strong bond with!

It is true about the requesting to be added not being as easy, I've done it via email with people before they went private, something to look into...
Anyways, whatever you decide is best for you, I'll want to be there following!

Thanks girls, I don't know what to do. Like so many of you said. I have so many followers that I feel I am friends with now. And no, none of you girls are creapy to me. Sometimes I get weird comments and I just delete them and honestly they are mean or anything just weird. I just want to do whats the best thing for my son. I don't like the idea of loosing any of my blog friends, So maybe I will explore my options a little bit more before making a decision but I totally appreciate your input.

I have been following your blog through my DIL (just learned how to actually follow your blog a few minutes ago) as you know Cooper (who is an absoluteely beautiful baby boy) he is almost the same age as our twins (Aaden & Noah)(Miracles Come in Pairs) I would love to continue following your blog if you decide to go private. My DIL (Tiffany) has an application on her blog that shows who looks at her blog, it says (in my case) "Tucson Arizona arrived on Miracles Come in Pairs" then when I go to yours it would say "Tucson Arizona arrived from Miracles Come in Pairs" you might want to ask Tiffany about how you can add the app. to your blog page??? at least then you could see who's looking and reading your blog. I think all of us Momma's out there have this go through our heads. I think sometimes we are all a little too public with our little ones. I contemplated going private, but the grandparents have a hard enough time getting on without it private... the idea of names and passwords freaks them out! I've also thought about this a lot. I have my FB pictures/profile private so why not my blog?? I think I've pretty much stopped getting new followers...maybe it's time? I would OF COURSE love to follow you once you go private! So how will we all switch over??

I went private for a little while, but I have so many family members who are "technologically challenged" that it just did NOT work. They can't even figure out how to leave a comment so asking them to log in to see the site was completely over their head.
I just keep a close eye on my followers (all 12 of them! lol) and make sure they're all legit. I blocked one person already because they didn't answer a message I sent them asking them who they were.
I guess I'm trying to keep a little faith in the good of people. This may bite me in the a$$. Time will tell!
