18 weeks and 2 days

Today we went to the doc. We had good news and bad news. The good news is that baby Cooper is doing great. Growing fast and healthy with a great heartbeat. They said he's 6" long!! That's so tiny yet I feel like he's so big. We go back in three weeks for our next check up.
The bad news is that my placenta previa problem isn't getting better. They were hoping it would fix itself by now, I still have time for it to rise more but my doctor told me today that it hardly moved since my last appt. This basically means that even if it does start to raise up a little in the next few months it will still be too low. So I will have placenta previa all the way up to childbirth. And most likely have to have a c-section. I'm fine with all of this as long as my baby is healthy and stays inside of me as long as he possibly needs to in order to be born healthy and ready to live in this world. I just don't like going into it all knowing we could have issues. So I'll keep praying about it.

I asked my doc if I'm allowed to eat Hot dogs and lunch meat because baby center tells you at week 12 I think??? That you should not eat cold lunch meat due to the listeria in it. I asked my doctor and he said as long as its fresh its fine. Also that hot dogs are fine as well. That makes me happy, I really wanted some coney's the other day. Now I can have some.

As far as me and how I'm feeling I'm doing good. My ribs are still hurting due to my small upper body but its worth it to know he's growing and that's why they hurt. Other than my ribs I'm feeling OK, minus the occasional strange twinge. We also just settled the whole childcare issues out yesterday. Our Nana and aunt are going to watch him every day. So he's with people we know and love and I feel really good about that. I don't mind daycare because I worked at one and truly loved the kids I had but I would rather take him later when he needs the interaction with other kids than now when he's 6 weeks old. So this will be a good choice I think. Considering the cost of sending him to a good learning center I'm happy with keeping him with family. Yikes that crap is expensive. Its near the same as my monthly house payment.

We are also going to start our payments on the furniture tonight. I'm SO EXCITED. We will get it in 90 days after the layaway. We decided to do it this way to spread the money out a bit.
Thanks for all your support girls. Its really special to me to have this blog and all these fabulous women to support you along the way.

HELP MY RIBS HURT SO BAD!

I have what I would call a pot belly, Its obviously bigger than my normal stomach but its not like strangers can tell I'm pregnant. They just think I need to lay off the beer.

The past two weeks I've been experiencing some pain in my ribs. It wasn't too bad but now its all day long. No matter what position I'm in and it hurts BAD! My left rib is hurting the worst then about an hour into that one hurting the right one joins in. It feels like someone is pushing them from the inside out. Which I guess is exactly what is happening. Laying on my side hurts, but I can't sleep on my back. I'm assuming this is all of my organs being pushed up into my rib cage. But I'm no doctor. I go back to see him on Thursday morning and I will most definitely ask him about this. But I'm sure there is nothing they can do.

Did any of you experience this joyful feeling? I'm not trying to complain, Because its totally worth it but it still hurts. I took a pic of my belly so you can see what its looking like these days. I apologize for the outfit. I had to put on my PJ's early because my ribs were really bothering me to the point of just wanting to lay down and straighten out my body as much as possible. Sitting hurts the worst. Anyways here I am 17-1/2 weeks.

baby shoes and furniture

I went shopping with my mom this weekend. We hit up all the fun trendy little shops with all the baby clothes I totally can't afford but man is it fun to try to. Of course I didn't buy much, Just a little winter hat that I loved that was on sale and some I think hilarious little metallic silver shoes that say rock star on the top of them with guitars. My husband plays the guitar and I wanted to get something random and fun so I saw these and although they are flashy and silly. I figure they will be cute with some little baby jeans. My child is going to feel something like David Bowie with his crazy rocker shoes on.
My husband and I also settled on the furniture. We have plenty of time but we have 90 days layaway and honestly if we start paying on it next week or even the week after that then we will be getting it in our possession sometime around the end of 7 months and the beginning of 8 months. That sounds good to me. I would like to have it to put in the room before my showers. They are in motion for early August so that should be just about right.
Its so much fun.

Cheese fries MMMMM!

Hello ladies! I'm just feeling happy and good these days for the most part. I'm not sure if any of you have ever had any of steak and shakes french fries with the ghetto-fied cheese they give you when you order the "cheese fries". Point being is that I complained to my husband the first time I had them that they reminded of the soccer field concession stand cheese they give you with your ball park nachos thats not even really cheese. It tastes like plastic cheese! (you know what I'm talking about!!) Now for some odd reason its all I can think about. I get off of work and I'm hungry "hmmm what sounds good, oh I know the ghetto cheese fries from steak and shake". I just don't get it. They are delish to me now. I absolutely can't get enough.
I'm not even sure if I would classify this as a funny pregnancy craving or if its just a normal weird me craving like usual. I've eaten pickles and cheese as a snack for years. Anything cheesy I'm up for. But ball park cheesy fries, now this is a new one.

I'm a little bit worried

Today we went to the doc. Cooper looked great, he was just moving all over the place. Its always great to see him. But then my doctor proceeds to tell us that he thinks I might be at risk of developing and having placenta previa. Now he explained this to us and wasn't too concerned and said there was a chance it might correct itself in the next 5 weeks or so but that there is a chance I could have it. I read up on it on good old google today and it really scares me. The risks seem terrible. I know it doesn't have to be a really dangerous thing to have but I guess I'm just worried. I just want my baby and I to make it safely through this pregnancy. That was my biggest concern was "is my baby going to be ok". Doc N said he should be completely fine. But of course I'll still worry.

My first maternity clothes

I went out with my mom and sister in law this weekend because my pants aren't to small but they are definately getting tight and uncomfortable. I went in search of the spandex expander and of course when we got there it was hard not to look at all the fun summer clothes. I cracked up when I saw that they had a stap on belly. Way to much fun! My sister in law was like "we aren't leaving here until you try that on". It was great, Of course it doesn't really look like a pregnant belly but its close enough. They said it would add 3 months to your present pregnant state. So that would put me at 7 months with the fake baby.
I tried on a few shirts since they were on sale and I new I will be needing them very soon even if I don't really need them yet. So I bought two new shirts and the belly expander for my pants. I also bought the cream for my tummy, thighs and boobs for the stretch mark prevention. hopefully that will work. I probably should have started using that before now. I feel like I just had a little growth spurt. I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and Coop is growing fast. I'm only 5' 2" so I don't know if its because I don't have much space or if I'm exactly where I need to be but I definately am getting a pooch going. I'm excited for my bigger pregnant days Uncomfortable and all. SO MUCH FUN. I just love knowing he's growing. Thats what I pray for everyday that he's safe and healthy and growing accordingly.
