I have what I would call a pot belly, Its obviously bigger than my normal stomach but its not like strangers can tell I'm pregnant. They just think I need to lay off the beer.
The past two weeks I've been experiencing some pain in my ribs. It wasn't too bad but now its all day long. No matter what position I'm in and it hurts BAD! My left rib is hurting the worst then about an hour into that one hurting the right one joins in. It feels like someone is pushing them from the inside out. Which I guess is exactly what is happening. Laying on my side hurts, but I can't sleep on my back. I'm assuming this is all of my organs being pushed up into my rib cage. But I'm no doctor. I go back to see him on Thursday morning and I will most definitely ask him about this. But I'm sure there is nothing they can do.
Did any of you experience this joyful feeling? I'm not trying to complain, Because its totally worth it but it still hurts. I took a pic of my belly so you can see what its looking like these days. I apologize for the outfit. I had to put on my PJ's early because my ribs were really bothering me to the point of just wanting to lay down and straighten out my body as much as possible. Sitting hurts the worst. Anyways here I am 17-1/2 weeks.

My ribs have been hurting since I was about 16 weeks. Sorry to say, the pain doesn't get any better. I did ask my doctor about it and he said exactly what you thought it was. All those organs are moving and shifting all around in there and they're going to push on whatever gets in their way. Mine is generally my right rib and from our last ultrasound I found out this little girl's feet are pressing right into it. Explains the pain. Not much helps but I do take just one tylenol if it gets to be too bad and that helps take the edge off. Also if you arch your back several times throughout the day, that will help alleviate some of the discomfort. The stretching regularly really does make things better. Good luck!
I'm with ya sista! My ribs haven't been too bad, except for when a foot makes its way up there, but my stomach feels like it's smooshed up to right below my ribs and after I eat, it actually hurts to touch! The things we go through for our little ones...so worth it :-)
Thank you so much for all your support! You look AMAZING! Sorry you are in pain.
Hey I am new to your blog! I had a great time reading about your journey! I saw that you only had one embryo make it to blast. That is great though, because my hubby and I didn't have any make it that far. We transfered two embryos, but it didn't work, and without any to freeze we are back to square one.
It is so funny - the IVF nurse used to always tell me it only takes one - but with you its true!!
I look forward to reading about your pregnancy!
Awe I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable. Baby's just making room for all the growing he's going to do. But on the bright side you have a cute tummy!
