St Patti's day!

Big changes are going on around our house and life. We had Cooper in a daycare, and as some of you may know that it wasn't going so well. I'm not sure I ever really shared some of the things that went on there but lets just say I wasn't as happy with my decision as I thought I would be.
A week ago, my husbands grandmother (who used to watch Cooper) and his Aunt Mimi (also watched Cooper) called and told us that my husbands grandpa (who had been in the hospital with some sudden issues that were very serious) was actually healing so quickly. They expected it to take through the summer for him to really be healed. But he's been doing a great job of healing quicker than they thought. So Nana and Mimi wanted us to let them keep Cooper again.
This couldn't have come at a better time. I'm so happy that they will have him again.
I have also been in touch with a women from my church who has some children at her house all day and was talking with me about letting Cooper come to her house a few times a week for some play time with other kids. I really like that idea.
So things are getting better in that aspect.

Yesterday was Coopers 6 month appointment. He is getting so big, Well to us he is.
He weighs 14lbs 5ozs, he is in the 5th percentile for his weight. His head is in the 20th percentile and his height is 28 inches long. He is in the 68th percentile for height. He is one tall and skinny little man. His pediatrician told us not to worry about his weight at all. That he is perfectly healthy and if anyone tries to say anything about his weight to tell them to "shut up". HA-HA. I love our pedi. He's the best. He said Cooper is 100% perfect. He's doing everything he should be doing at this point and he's a little ahead (doc's words not mine).
I'm so proud of our little man. He's getting so big, so animated, so personable.

We went out to Texas Roadhouse last night for dinner to celebrate his half birthday and Cooper smiled and flirted with every person he saw, bringing all sorts of attention to himself.

Today we are going out to dinner with our closest friends and although I don't drink beer I'm sure everyone else will be having themselves some green beer. I'm excited to see everyone.

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

my coworkers baby is 18 months and just about 19 pounds. she's just a small kid. But her doc said as long as she's gaining and growing, (even if it's slowly, it's still growth!) it's not a huge concern. some babies are just smaller! That's awesome your day care situation got all worked out. What a blessing!

Happy St. Patty's to you too! Cooper is growing so nicely & I'm glad to hear that you're going to have your Nana & MiMi watch him again. It'll really put your mind to rest and he will be getting lots of love and attention from them instead of having him just plopped in a toy all afternoon! xo

That's so awesome that he won't have to be in the daycare anymore and they want to watch him again! That must be such a relief for you! I am sure Coop appreciates it too!

I'm sorry to hear that the daycare wasn't working quite like you'd wanted it to. But it sounds like everything will take care of itself :)

I just found your blog. Cooper is SO cute! Glad that your daycare situation just worked itself out!! I am lucky to have my mom watch our Blake 2 times/week...but we are doing daycare for the other 2 days. It is so hard to leave him!!

You have one skinny little guy, I thought my Aaden was tiny, but Cooper is a lean little bugger.

Oh my what great news that you will have family watching him. Oh what a blessing that is. My Grandma watches the boys one day a week and we are so thankful. I love the boys babysitter the other two days, but it is so nice to have them with family and in your own home, and well um... free is pretty nice too.

Hey Melissa! Thank you for your advice about my blog! I'm going to check out that website you recommended as soon as I'm done writing this. ;) I'm so excited!

And, I think if you're looking for a change, you should definitely update 1 or 2 of Cooper's pictures! I think you should keep at least one of those pics of you, your husband, and Cooper as a tiny baby(they're just too sweet!)....but, maybe add a couple of him now. That way we can watch him grow right at the top of you page. :)

So glad you got the daycare situation figured out. My little girl is almost 2 and she only weighs like 21 lbs. She has always been small and lower percentile but always gains a little weight each check up!

So glad the situation with Coop's day care has cleared up now and family will be taking care of him, that's so good! Glad you had a nice St. Patti's day - my little guy is sick, so we've been sitting home for a couple of days. But tomorrow we're going to the pedi for a reg checkup, so we'll be out in the fresh air again. :)
