This morning we woke up and played around in the house before we went to church. While in church, Cooper started to get a little bit restless and he grabbed his blanky from his diaper bag. I gave him a paci and he cuddled up to his blanket and my chest and started to unwind. Then suddenly he realized he was letting himself fall asleep and he became very fidgety and wanted down. I put him down, figuring he would come back and get in my lap in a second. He took one step tripping on the blanket and went face first into the kneelers that are in each seat at our church. The bottom foot part of the kneeler went directly into my poor baby's forehead. At first I thought he just bumped into it and held him close cuddling him while he did an insane silent cry. Suddenly he was screaming and I pulled him back to see the LARGEST freaking huge purple and blue bump protruding from his forehead. It scared me half to death. I do know that when it bumps out that is good. But still this was HUGE and it was purple, red and blue all over the place. By far the worst bump Cooper has gotten yet.
I grabbed him up and ran out of the church to the parking lot reaching for my phone frantically to call my mom and ask if I should take him to the hospital. To me it was really bad. My husband came running out with all of our stuff. My mom calmed me down and assured me that if it was out and his eyes looked OK and he was acting OK that he was probably fine. We got him some ice in the church kitchen and watched him like a hawk for a little bit. His head looked terrible.
Needless to say, he is fine. He didn't sleep for a while just to be cautious. He just really got himself good this time.
I took a picture and this was about 6-7 hours after the fall. Its gone down tremendously but its still pretty blue and slightly protruding. Poor kid. He is going to have one really good bruise over his eye on his bday. It makes me sad, and I felt terrible for not thinking to lift his blanket before he started to try to walk. Next time I will be paying attention to that.

Right now though he is all happy and geared up for the Cowboys game tonight. I even texted my dad some pics of him in his little Jersey. I bet my dad is so proud. We are huge Cowboy fans. :)

These are from the beginning of the weekend. Cooper is such a mess, always getting into stuff. He's so funny.

Well, I'm off to get the Coopster in the bath and off to bed. I've been missing again from blogging. I read and never comment. But this week I plan on making up for my lack of comments. I've seen birthday's and all sorts of fun things I need to go back and leave messages for.
Last...
I made Cooper a few shirts to wear on his actual birthday, birthday party, and second b-day party. The second one is just iron on and the first one I made from scratch. Well sort of. Not the tshirt part of course.
I also made the party hat. None of them turned out boutique worthy or perfect but I thought I did a decent job. And for a WAY cheaper price.

Next time I post it will be about my little mr. turning one. I can't hardly believe it!

I would have been the exact same way with a bump like that!! And...I would have called my mom and she would have talked me down. :) I am sure you were just a worry mess about it. And, rightfully so!!
I can not believe the birthdays are upon us. We have our party coming up on Saturday and I have a laundry list of things I need to get done this week. I am really trying not to stress, but enjoy it. I am sure by Saturday morning I will be STRESSED! Enjoy this last week of babyhood. I can't believe it's gone so fast!!
Poor Cooper!! I know that had to hurt!! We have had a few bumps on the head!!!
I love your t-shirts for Coops Birthday!! I think your homemade one is my favorite!! And that hat is adorable!!
What a great weekend, minus Cooper's bump on the head. Bless his heart, he looks like a trooper though! Love seeing all the pics of him in getting into different things, all boy!! I can't believe your boy is turning one soon, I love what you made and can't wait to hear all about it!!! So exciting!!
So adorable! You did a terrific job on those shirts! Sorry about lil' man's boo boo! I sometimes think it's more painful for us than it is for the little ones. I just felt awful when GG got her first bump! I was upset long after her crying stopped! And yay for Monday night football!
Poor Coop! I freak when K has ANY kind of accident! Right now, she has a MAJOR, MAJOR boo-boo! :( :(
But, adorable party hat! I actually made K one VERY similar! :) I can't wait to see all the party pictures!!
cute pics! those shirts are adorable!!!
Aww, poor dude with a bumped head. I hate it when that happens! Your shirts are way too cute, I can't believe that Cooper is almost one!!!
Kyah fell and hit his head and ended up with an AMAZING goose egg once too. I'm not a panicker, but if I was it definitely would have called for concern. However.. it was all gone within about 4 days. No sign of it. Those things heal fast.
And Seriously!!!! Those Shirts are ADORABLE! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that hat. I am making a Lady bug Hat for my niece right now. I'm all about those fun hats! :)
Poor little guy with the bump on his head :( It's all part of growing up and being a boy and he is bound to have a whole bunch more though! Hope it heals quickly!!
He is soo adorable in that cute little jersey!! Can't wait to see birthday pics!
Love the shirts!! He's going to look so cute! I can't believe he's getting so big...such a handsome little man!

Ouch! I am convinced as my Cooper is almost 2.5, that boys will be boys. I freaked at his first head bump, and he keeps beating himself up! Scares me to death!
He is just too cute, though. :)

Poor Cooper! That bump does look like a doozy. And, I would have freaked out, too!

AND I LOVE THE BARBER JERSEY! Marion the barbarian!! Hubby loves it, too! Good job! :) And you did a great job on his shirts! So fun!!
Awww...poor Coop! I feel ya on the ouchie! Blake plays so rough. He has gotten a few good bumps and it freaks me out every time. I am sure that we are in for it with little BOYS...that are just so rough and tough!
Love the b-day hat and shirts :)
poor little guy and wow you did a great job on the shirts. Cant wait to see and hear all about the party.
Hope his head is doing better!!
I empathize with the Coopster's bruise. Last year, Lil' Lewie bumped into the bed just before getting pictures with Santa. I didn't think it was bad either until I noticed the blood. He still has a scar now...Ugh! Thankfully, it looks like Mr. Coopster's bruise is going away...
I'm looking forward to seeing the birthday pics too. Enjoy!!!
