1 month old today

I can't hardly believe it, Today my sweet little angel baby boy is one month old. Exactly one month ago I met the person I've dreamed of meeting my entire life. My sweet baby. He is doing so much that he wasn't doing a month ago already.
Milestones up to one month are....
-He's awake a whole lot more than he was when we brought him home.
-He can sit up in his swing and his bouncy seat without rolling his body forward and his head stays put.
-He is able to hold his little head up for a minute or so without throwing it forward or back scaring us all to death.
-He is out of preemie clothes and soon out of newborn stuff.
-He has gained 2 whole pounds since the day he was born.

Our little guy is slowly but surely growing and its amazing to watch him every day. We love him so much.

We had to take him to the doctor two days ago because the past week he has been very VERY fussy and upset. He wouldn't let us put him down, He was waking up 4 times a night. He's been spitting up and very gassy. So we went to see the doc and they determined that Cooper has acid reflux. Poor baby. He is now on some meds and we are already seeing an improvement in him. He is still spitting up a little but he's allot happier than he was a week ago. I sure hope these meds work and he keeps getting better and better. Its terrible to see our little man sad.

A message to Cooper.
Cooper we love you so much, you have filled daddy and mommy's life with so much love and happiness and we are so proud and happy to be your parents. We will love you unconditionally and take care of you always. You are our special gift from God.
Thanks for gracing our life with joy and love. We love you.

And here is a picture of Coop on his one month bday.
Its the only one I could get of him right now since he's taking a nap in his swing. He looks so content though, Look at those healthy little chunky cheeks he's getting. :) Also a pic of him with Mommy and one of him with his daddy.

Oh and a big huge thanks to everyone for the sweet comments on my new hair cut. It was scary to chop it all off like that, But I do like it. I miss my long hair but I think this will be fun and sassy. I appreciate the uplifting comments ladies.

Chop chop

Before

After shots

Today I had an appointment with my hair stylist. An appointment that has been long awaited. About 8 years ago I cut all of my super long hair off. I cut it up right above my shoulders. This was before straighteners and cute short haircuts. This was the time of mushroom do's. Needless to say I didn't love it and I grew my hair super long again. Well for the past two years I've been battling with cutting it again. As most of you know its been very long for years and years and today I finally bit the bullet and chopped it off. This is a big deal for me, I don't usually deal with change well. But I did it. I went in and got a new haircut. Although its a ton shorter than it was before I think I really like it.

Here it is.....

First real night out without the little man.

This weekend my sister in laws sister got married. So the hubby and I left our little Cooper with my aunt Renee and went to the wedding. My family was there so that was nice and the wedding was beautiful. We had a great time and of course missed our little Mr. But he did a great job with my aunt Ne. It was crazy though going out without him. I've been home with him now for over 3 weeks and although I have gone places without him, they were just quick errands. My husband and I had not gone out just the two of us since before he was born and going out without your baby when both of you are with each other is weird. All I could think about was Cooper, I wonder what he's doing, how he is. I miss him, I just want to snuggle him close. I hope he's OK. So many thoughts. But I promise I did enjoy my time out though or at least try to. My niece who is seventeen months old was the flower girl at the wedding. She was absolutely adorable. She is such a little entertainer, You can't believe how friendly and outgoing this child is. As soon as the we all got to the reception she immediately went straight to the dance floor by herself to bust a move. She danced the entire night. Not stopping to even eat. It was hilarious! People were calling it the Natalie show. She was out there dancing away and she did this one move that had me laughing so hard, she put her hands in the air and lifted one leg and slowly bounced in a circle. Girl has rhythm, its amazing! How does a 1-1/2 year old have so much rhythm. I tried to catch the good dance moves on video but my camera died before I got a good video. I did get one of her just bouncing though. Trust me when I say this is not even near how she was dancing all night. She was all over the place with moves I didn't know a baby could do. My brother definitely taught her these things I bet. She also loves the song "Jump around" By the house of pain. There is a part in the song where the music makes a high pitched weeee noise and she would scream an ear pearcing scream to make the sound like the song does every time. And in the song it says "Jump around, jump around, jump up jump up and get down, jump jump jump" and she would put her hand in the air all ghetto like and jump. Ah this child is bound to be in the spotlight somehow. She had the dj's rolling, it was great. I will post the short video I have of her but like I said it doesn't even begin to show her crazy dance moves, she just bounces in this video, she must have been taking a breather. I'll try to get a video of her next week dancing for real. Its too funny. Hopefully she can teach Coop some good moves when he's able to dance. I also want to post a picture of my best friend Lisa and I. She came over for dinner last week and brought her sweet little 1 year old daughter Anniston. Anni was so sweet, she leaned in and kissed Cooper. What a cutie. Lisa and I took a picture together our very first picture of both of us with our children. Its crazy, we grew up together and now here we are taking pictures with our kids. Its amazing and wonderful.

I spoke to soon about the poo

Today things took a whole new turn with the whole not having any bm's. Our sweet angel son gave me the most collosal poo I've ever personally witnessed in my life!!
Let me set the scene for you all. Here I was taking him into his room to put him in an outfit and take him out of his sleeper. We change into a nice little onesy with some cute matching sweatpants. The onesy said "daddys team" on it. So sweet :).
I was telling him "Daddy will be so happy to see you in this cute little outfit when he gets home, he will like this one buddy". We then proceed to go to the living room where I start to feed him. But he wouldn't eat, he was having some gas so I thought maybe he needed a minute. I tell him "Well Cooper man maybe I should check to make sure you didn't poopoo for me finally". I had barely slipped my finger into the side of his sweatpants before I felt it. The warm disgusting yellow poo that was oozing from the top of his pants. It was like daddy daycare when the kid goes to the bathroom and the whole bathroom is covered and Eddie Murphy is staring in horror at every wall except this time it was my child. Within seconds I knew that this was a new kind of blow out. One we had never had before. I took him quickly to his room and put him on the changing table where I slowly proceeded to pull of his pants. Which by the way had poo in both legs LOTS AND LOTS of poo. It was inside his onesy and had run up his back, it was all over the outside of his onesy. I now had it on my sleeve of my shirt as well. It took a good 10 minutes and countless wipes to get him even slightly cleaned up. Then we proceeded to my bathroom where his baby tub is. I bathed him and got him nice and clean, wrapped him up all nice and snug in his towel and took him back to his room where I walked over to the closet to pick out a new outfit for him to wear. As I am still standing on his nice zebra rug in his bedroom I suddenly feel an overwhelming ammount of water running down my side, down my entire right leg of my pants and making a freakishly large puddle at my feet. YES THATS RIGHT LADIES, HE HAD A COLLOSAL PEE AS WELL. Are you kidding me with this???? I am now a complete wreck, poo covered, pee covered, with my little naked son and his pee covered towel. I stripped down, put a diaper on him and cleaned him up yet again and sat down in his glider with him wrapped up in a blanket scared to move. So there we are both half naked, both seemingly in shock.

Needless to say I still had to clean the rug, dress my little man, and myself and now here I am blogging about it. It was insane! Ah motherhood. These are the times I hope I look back at and laugh. I did end up laughing during this whole ordeal because it was almost like a joke how everything kept happening. SIGH, I'm exhausted now.

Also I want to say that lately I have been so DITSY! I have said the most rediculous things, asked the most stupid questions. Like yesterday and his monthly birthday, HELLO Melissa, its not rocket science. I felt so stupid after asking that question. an hour after I posted that it just hit me how silly that was of me so I ran back to my computer to delete that part and repost and it was too late, I already had 10 comments. How embarrassing! You guys were very nice though, not making me feel stupid at all. I did that all on my own. When will the hormonal pregnancy brain go away, I never used to be this way.

I want to thank God today for my sweet little tiny man. No matter what kind of crazy journey he takes me on each day, I love him so very much and feel blessed that God has given us this precious gift.

My son won't poop

Yes you read that correctly. OK so he's pooping but not like he was last week. In the past few weeks he's been having regular BM's at least 5-6 times a day. Two days ago he just sort of stopped. He has only had 3 or 4 good ones, that's only 2 a day. That is SOOO not enough! I think I will call the doctor tomorrow and just check but he's not acting like anything is wrong. He has to be constipated though.
This is such a weird subject but most of you are moms so I thought I would just see what you think?
Now let me give you a few details. He's eating normal, he's peeing clear every time he eats and sometimes more, he's a little grunty from time to time as if he has gas, but lately he's been using his voice allot more and the grunts are sort of his thing. I think he just does that and its not because he's trying to poop or anything. I could be wrong though. We are still feeding him breast milk every feeding and at night we do 1-2oz of formula every feeding. I have no idea why he won't go. But I know he used to go regularly so I'm just a little concerned about the complete lack of doodoo!

Anyone else experience this with there little ones?

By the way our little tiny man is 3 weeks today! I can't believe he's only a week away from being 4 weeks old.

Seriously! I'm the type of person that's GO GO GO, I can't stand to sit around all day doing nothing being lazy. I get physically ill when I feel like I've done nothing all day. Well today I hit a new low. I layed in bed until 11:00. Of course waking to feed Cooper but he sleeps well in the morning so I took my naps when he slept. Then I ended up bringing him and his boppy into my room where I fed him again. I ended watching movies and laying there all day long. When he woke up I would feed him and we would talk and hang out for a while and then he would fall asleep. That's the most of what we did all day long. I feel terrible. What kind of mom am I if I can't get off my lazy butt, put on some clothes, makeup, anything. I didn't even eat lunch until around 1:00, that's breakfast and lunch put together by the way. My poor husband came home to find me finally out of bed but looking TERRIBLE sitting on our couch feeding our son. I feel so lazy. The rest of this week will not be this way. I REFUSE to feel this way the rest of the week.

OK that's my confession for this lovely Monday. I promise that I will be a better less lazy momma tomorrow and the rest of the week. I do not like feeling this way. Poor Cooper saw the walls of my bedroom the entire day. Not good!

I will leave you all with a few pictures of this past weekend.
We had family visiting from Tennessee , we went to the park for the firat time with Cooper and we had our sweet son Baptised. It was a beautiful weekend. I'm so happy my son is now baptised and we had such a nice weekend with friends and family.

2 weeks old

Yesterday my little Cooper Monster turned 2 full weeks old. I can't believe I have a baby, a healthy beautiful 2 week old baby boy. He's so dang precious. We went to the pedi to see how he's doing. Guess what!!!! Our little man grew oh yes he did. To our surprise he not only gained back his birth weight but he also gained an extra 6 Oz's on top of that. I'm so proud of him. Apparently he's definitely getting enough breast milk. We did talk to the doctor about his eating habits but with him over achieving and gaining more than the expected weight in just 9 days we really aren't as concerned with the fact that it doesn't always seem like he's eating as much. Now if only I could get him to sleep more at night, we would be just great. Everything looked great though at his appointment and we were cleared to give him real baths instead of sponge baths. I will post a picture of this first real bath because it was so funny. Cooper was all upset because we took his clothes of. He sure does hate being without warm toasty clothes on. We slipped his little feet into his warm bath and immediately he turned to silly puddy. His entire body went limp, he sat like a puddle of a person his legs literally floating on top of the water. He had a look on his face that could only mean pure comfort and joy. He seemed as though we had slipped him some codeine or something, he looked drugged. It was so funny. My mom (who is still visiting) was laughing so hard saying that out of all the babies she's seen in the bath she's never seen one act quite like this. We all three (my hubby, mom and I) laughed as we bathed him.

I unfortunately didn't have any pictures of him that showed truly how funny this was that aren't inapropriate for me to post. I'm not comfortable with having the pics of my son naked and spread eagle posted for the world to see although those are the hilariouse pics that showed his little floating frog legs and euphoric expression on his face. So I chose this picture of me washing him instead. It doesn't capture how funny he was but isn't he so dang cute either way!!!
