Weekend with the family!

We went to visit my parents and brothers this weekend. I missed them like crazy! We had a great weekend, let me give you a quick re-cap. Friday night we went to a friends house for a cookout. We had so much fun. Add Image Remove Formatting from selection
Saturday morning we headed for mom and dad's and made it by lunch time. We went to our usual lunch place when we go to visit, the Greek House. MMMM. This place is so good. After lunch we headed back to mom and dad's. But on the way we stopped at this really fun park they have by the campus. It was so cute. It looked like a huge castle, and had all sorts of hands on things that kids could do. I played with some of the musical toys with Cooper while my niece went down slides. Cooper swang for a minute but didn't care to much for the swing set. not sure why really?

We left because it started to rain and my mom and I needed to go to the store.
We then came home to the guys playing football outside and my niece Natalie was playing sidewalk chalk. We stayed outside for a while and enjoyed the nice weather. Then we all went for ice cream. YUM! It was one of those frozen yogurt places where you get to put whatever you want on it. Mine was some sort of berry flavored yogurt covered in all types of fruit. It was amazing! Sunday we got up and went to church, then went to the music/art festival they were having in town. That was??? Well OK let me break it down for you. I love love love music. I am a very musical artistic person so I appreciate music and art. However this was sort of strange. Its like every hippie under the sun comes out. Which I have absolutely no problem with whatsoever. However what I do have a problem with is people who don't wear deodorant and they smell like they just took a 40 mile jog in 100 deg weather. They stunk BAD! and smiled up a storm. Well today while at the art festival, we saw some. They were being sold in a booth and so I walked over to look at them and my mom was like "oh my gosh, he loved that one he saw yesterday". Sure enough, when Julian brought him over to see them he smiled from ear to ear reaching for them. So my mom decided she would let him get one. It was so funny, we found one named "Ralph", I like to call him The music was nice, the art was nice. I saw some super cute headbands that were so fun and I decided instead of paying $25.00 for one how fun it would be to make my own. So I inspected it really closely and I am going to go buy the supplies tomorrow and try to make one. Apparently Saturday Cooper saw a sock Monkey on tvRalphy. But anyways, he has his tongue hanging out. Cooper has lately been obsessed with hanging his tongue out of him mouth its so funny. So mom bought him his little sock monkey and he hasn't been able to put that thing down since he got it. He loves it!
Anyways, we had a good time but didn't stay too terribly long. We went back to mom and dad's and spent the rest of the day hanging out and relaxing. I had a terrible headache due to my stupid annoying allergies. But luckily a short nap and some Advil took care of that.

I have to tell you all. Cooper loves his grandparents. Of course he does, but this weekend Cooper started showing quite the interest in my dad. It was the most absolute adorable thing I've ever seen. I felt some sort of special joy watching my little boy ooh and aah as he stared at my dad. He would lean around you just so he could see my dad. He would smile non stop anytime my dad was in eye sight. He leaned to him whenever he saw him. He LOVES my dad. I loved watching him as he looked adoringly at his grandpa. Its the cutest thing ever! Just wanted to share that with you because it was seriously adorable. Now we are home and tired and ready for bed. But I decided I would post really quick and say hi. I hope all of you had a good weekend. I'll have to spend this next week playing catch up again. :)We left because it started to rain and headed home so the kids could take a nap and I went to run errands with mom.

I love love love those flops! I've been considering flops for my kids, but I don't know if they'll actually walk in them.

Hate allergies.

Hate stinky people.

Love music!

Fun weekend! And that is so, so special that Coop and your dad are bonding. Seems like the Grandma bond comes more easily sometimes, so it's really neat to see the Grandpa bond build while Coop is so young.

Sounds like you had such a fun weekend!!!

And really, could you have a cuter kiddo? Seriously?!!! Loved that sock monkey pic with Cooper and those flip flops!!! Hello summer!

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving your kind congrats! BTW...I totally understand what you mean about being the only girl. If and when you have #2, even if it takes a 2nd round of IVF, nothing seems to be able to compare to that 1st born medical miracle!!! So yes, in a way, it's a little gift that my IVF baby gets to be the only daughter. Lots of mommy/daughter dates ahead!

Blessings,
Val
