Derek Zoolander
Recently a friend of mine commented on a picture of Cooper she saw that she said reminded her of the Zoolander pose. You know the "blue steel","Le Tigre" and "Ferrari".

Quote: "I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is."

ha ha, I just think that is so funny.
OK on another subject, I took 4 or 5 pictures of Cooper yesterday morning before I left for work because he was wearing his first pair of shorts. I know this is such a silly reason to take pictures of him but I just thought it was so cute.
They are just some comfy boy shorts. He wore some REALLY cute plaid cargo shorts out to dinner last night but I didn't bring my camera so I'll just share these from yesterday morning. :) With a little commentary as well.

"Are you kidding me mom, Its 6:30 in the morning"

"OK, mom! You got me, you know I can't resist having my picture taken"

"don't quit now, get my serious look too" :)
Cooper is so good at letting me take pictures of him. I know this will end one day and he will refuse to look at the camera but while I still can I do. He cracks me up with his expressions.
Oh and I forgot to tell you girls. Yesterday I took him for a check up on his ears. He is completely over his ear infection and we weighed him again. Guess how much he weighed???? 15lbs 14 ounces!! In 3 weeks he gained almost a pound and a half. He's never done that. I've noticed he's been getting a little less super skinny boy. I guess its the baby food?
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Learn something new about me... And a new blog background
As most of you have noticed, My blog went through some changes the past few days. I loved my old background but when I sent my pictures over to Kelly at http://www.oxboroughchaos.com/ to update them. Because she is the person who designed my blog layout in the first place. So I sent her my pics and she so sweetly offered to change my blog up a bit. I thought that was so sweet of her. She did a great job as usual. We opted for the much brighter more summery and fun background this time. Its bright!!! I hope you all enjoy.
Thanks so much Kelly.. I will be doing a free blog makeover giveaway compliments of the lovely mrs. Kelly sometime in the next week. So check in if your wanting a brand new blog makeover.

Today my new buddy (Oh my gosh, I don't even know her name???) over at http://thelittlebarrasfamily.blogspot.com/ left me this totally awesome award. Thanks girly!!!

The rules............
1. accept and thank the person who gave it to you!
2.List 10 things about yourself
3.List 5 additional things you DON'T like!
4.Then pick ten people to give this lovely award to!
Ok...
1. I'm obsessed with cheese. I've gotten much better over the years but I sure do love cheese.
2. I don't have a favorite color. I have always struggled with what my favorite color was when asked that question. I don't have one. I think it depends on what your referring to in order for me to pick a color I would prefer.
3. I'm really outspoken, I speak my mind and I talk way to much.
4. I am one of the biggest worriers on the planet. I worry about all kinds of random things.
5. I always knew I would have a boy first. I knew it my entire pregnancy and even before we got pregnant. I just saw a boy in my future.
6. I have naturally brown hair. Not dark brown but its not blond either shhhhh don't tell :)
7. I've started to wear "mommy jeans". Ok they aren't really mommy jeans but I used to wear skimpy low cut jeans, even a year and a half ago I was. Then I got prego, had my baby and now I'm gap jeans all the way. They go up higher on my back and since I am way to lazy to ever work out I prefer my jeans to cover any extra somethin somethin that might be there.
8. I used to LOVE to shop but I've gotten much better the past year. However if you give me money and take me to the mall, the crazy old Melissa will unleash and I will have no problem spending that money very fast.
9. It took me almost 4 months to let the dogs even close to Cooper. I've had them since they were puppies, they are both now 5 and 6 years old but it still freaked me out. I still won't let them near him unless I'm right there but they love him and watch over him and I know they won't hurt him, but its still the "what ifs". Refer back to answer # 4.
10. I'm so goofy, I dance all kinds of random uncool jigs and dances all over my house singing all the time.
Ok now I have to list 5 things about myself I don't like...
1. I don't really think I don't like this but its really quirky of me so I'll list it. I HATE the drains in showers. I refuse to touch them with my feet UGH!!! When I clean the shower, I have to have two washcloths in a big ball and I nearly gag the entire time I clean it. Even if it looks clean it still totally grosses me out. Yuck.
2. I sometimes have a bad habit of messing with my cuticles. I hate when I do this, but if I'm stressed or worried or thinking hard I sometimes don't even realize I'm doing it. Not a good habit to have.
3. I refuse to go tanning, I used to years ago but my mom has had some skin cancer and it totally freaked me out because I'm pale. So as much as I miss that beautiful golden glow. I won't do it anymore. I embrace my pale self, use a little self tanner and get a little sun through my SPF in the summer and that's about it.
4. I have an attitude, or so I've been told by close friends and family. I have no idea what they mean? :)
5. I think I want a bigger butt. I've always wanted more junk in the trunk but its just not in the cards for me. I'm not getting a butt implant or anything but I do sort of wish I had a bigger Heine!
OK ladies I think that's all.
Here are 10 bloggy friends who I think are gorgeous bloggers.

OMG!!!
Seriously, I had to share this with you. Its nothing important, just a story from my work today.
Trust me you want to hear this.
I am sitting at my desk working away (possibly reading blogs :) when a co-worker of mine (we shall call him Don) walks up to my desk and stands directly to my left facing me. He starts to talk and sets down an order he wants me to take care of. While he's talking I nicely look up to show him that I'm listening to him and as he says the word "enter" as the letter T leaves his mouth so does a chunk of his spit. And where do ask did this flying spit land? In my eye? NO. On my cheek? NO maybe even on a boob? Nope not there either. IN MY FREAKING MOUTH!!!! No lie!
I'm not some germaphobe but never has this ever happened to me before. I immediately went into panic mode in my brain. I being the nice person that I am realized that it wasn't his fault, He didn't even notice he did it and so I nicely looked away avoiding his glare in shock and didn't say a word about it to him. But oh my gosh!!!! Are you serious!! He spit in my mouth, Random work guy! Ewe!!!
I mean no this isn't really that big of a deal but I was grossed out. It felt like a fiery ball of acid as it sat in my mouth as I turned my head trying not to make a horrified face at him and embarrass him. I mean its not like I went in for a smooch or anything. It was an unwanted spit wad in my mouth. UGH!
Ok I just had to share with you girls. Because the only person I told at work was two co-workers of mine. They are still laughing when they walk by me. I mean it was hilarious I agree but EWE not when it happened to me. :)

Easter
This year was Cooper's very first Easter. Although he doesn't understand the meaning of Easter and all he saw it as was a time to get some new toys and books, I did explain it to him. No he doesn't understand a word I said but I like to pretend that he does =)
My family was hear staying at my grandma's house. So Saturday Cooper and I went over to Grandma's and saw my parents, and brother's family. I spent the GORGEOUS perfect weather day outside helping my dad on some yard work and then we all ate dinner and just spent time together. The kids, (Nat and Coop) played together and had a good time. Poor hubby was sick though and stayed home to get some much needed rest.
Sunday we went to church with our family at my grandma's church. We sat close to the front, which we don't usually do. Having a 6 month old usually forces me to want to sit as close to the cry room as possible. But we took our chances and sat very close to the front this week. The whole row was family and the row of people in front of us and behind us were all about Cooper. They were smiling at him and ooh and awe-ing over him. It was funny and cute. He of course smiled his bright dimply smile right back at each and every one of them flirting as he does so well.
Church was really nice and I loved the homily. The priest was really interesting and fun to listen to. After church we went back to grandma's for dinner/lunch.
Julian was feeling much better Sunday and was able to join us all day. That was nice.
I'm enjoying every moment of all these special days and the days in between with our sweet baby boy. Its amazing how much better life is when you have kids. I am truly blessed to have this beautiful little boy. He is my everything. God has given us such a gift.
We had a great Easter weekend. Cooper enjoyed pulling all the fake grass out of the Easter baskets he got. One from his daddy and I and one from My parents. In the years to come he will be taught the true meaning of Easter and the fun basket of goodies will just be a bonus to this beautiful holiday. :)

And I had to add these three pictures of Cooper Thursday night in his little summer outfit. He was so cute. It says Mr. Fix it on the front and has a little tool belt. Of course these pictures don't show you that but its so cute anyways. He was just playing and rolling and moving as if he wants to crawl. He is so close its funny. He rocks and leans and tries to lift his hand and then doesn't know how to steady himself and ends up face planting the ground. Poor guy. He will get it really soon, I'm sure.

this weekend
This weekend we did allot of fun things.
Friday night we went out to dinner with some friends of ours and Cooper got to wear his new boots. He looked pretty cool in his boots, except for the fact that he only had them on for about 10 minutes and kept kicking them off. Aren't they cute. Super cheap old navy boots but still adorable to me.

We had so much fun. We celebrated my older brother Matt's birthday. Went to dinner, had cake at their house afterwards. We did the usual "birthday shot". This is a new ritual my brother has decided to start up this past year. Every adult birthday and anyone willing and wanting to not be a party pooper can have a birthday shot. I didn't do it on the last birthday because I was the driver to get us all home and since I hardly ever even get to have a glass of wine, I don't want to take a chance if I'm the one driving. But this time I was able and willing to join in. So we got our group of shot birthday takers and took it. Ugh, its been a while and those shots were NASTY! I hate tequila. That could be why. I had to eat like 10 Hershey kisses to wash the taste away. But it is a fun little birthday ritual.
Don't worry, I know there is a child in this picture. That looks lovely I know. We didn't drink the whole bottle just this one shot. I'm thinking I won't be taking anymore b-day shots. Nasty.

Notice Cooper's hilarious blank expression. He does that allot when we let him try new things. Its like "what the heck"!!!

What a great cousin she is to him.
Today was not our usual Monday. I don't think I mentioned this last week but my husband's best friends mom passed away last week. She found out around Christmas time that she had cancer, found out a month or two later that it had spread all over her body and was in the late stages. About 3 weeks ago they sent her home and told the family there was nothing more they could do and to just "make her comfortable". My heart broke when I was told these things. I had prayed and prayed and I just didn't understand how something could happen so fast. Her family was by her side when she passed and we have been there for our friend this past week doing anything we can. Today was the funeral and it was so sad to see her children (5 of them) all around my age, with there small children having to say goodbye to their mom at such a young age. It made me really think of how lucky I am to have my parents. Don't take them for granted ladies. Please send out some prayers for this family to heal and to have strength as they deal with this loss throughout the future.
The funeral was beautiful and at times even uplifting. The family was in good spirits considering what they have been through.
As soon as the funeral was over, the hubs and I rushed home to get our Cooper. I missed him so bad. Especially when I'm sad. All I want is my son. In my arms hugging me and playing happily.
We spent the rest of the day doing arrends we had to do. And this evening took another trip to the park. We took Cooper down a slide for his very first time. I think he liked it. But I don't really think he knows or cares either. =)

In case anyone ever wonders why I put so many pictures so often. Its because I'm really wanting to make a blog book. I know some people who have used certain websites that make hard back really nice books out of your blogs. I want to make a book for Cooper's first year and pictures are important to me for that. So I try to put lots of memories and pictures as often as I can. Also I have lots of family that live out of town that read my blog to keep up with us, so its for them also. I hope it doesn't drive you crazy or make you think we are picture freaks :)
