I had a bad few days (Thursday and Friday). I was feeling like the daycare decision wasn't a good choice and regretting putting him in. I was so upset Thursday night for a few different reasons. A friend of mine actually picked up Cooper from Daycare for us early on Friday so he wouldn't have to stay all day. That made me SOOO HAPPY! So my attitude had changed for the better. It was the weekend. I got to spend quality time with my boys in the warm sun. Cooper has never really gotten to go outside much. When he was born it was changing to fall and was too cool for an infant to be outside. Then winter came and now finally the sun is out and the weather is nice. I had this wonderful image of us waking up Saturday, Me cleaning my entire house spotless and feeling that amazing feeling of accomplishment as we strapped Cooper into his stroller (big boy style, no more car seat on top). Us taking a walk with the dogs, Cooper staring around at all the tree's the sun, the park. Awe what a wonderful image it was. I was so excited.
Saturday morning I woke up and I walk into Cooper's room where He and daddy are sitting. Julian says to me "He's sort of got a runny nose". I was like "Oh no". Sure enough crazy runny nose boy he was.
He went down for a nap a few hours later and when I went to get him out of his crib when he woke up I found this......

I mean isn't that just so sad, Look at that sad litttle face ans swollen little eye. Makes me so sad!
I was shocked. His whole eye was swollen and purplish red colored. It had all those yuckies in it like he had pink eye. His nose was a faucet and now he had developed a cough and constant sneeze. MY GOSH, HOW FAST CAN A CHILD GO DOWNHILL! It broke my heart.
I was shocked at how quickly all of this developed. But Cooper was still in a good mood.
We called the doctors line and were told to take him to the minor emergency pediatrics office. We took him and the nurses and doctors were wonderful. They played with him and smiled and talked to him. He weighs 14 lbs 7 ounces now.
The doctor told us he has a cold that has caused an infection in his eye due to all the drainage and crud in his head. They gave him some eye drops, told us to keep using the little noses spray and keep sucking out the junk. So that's what we've been doing. Its sad though, seeing him this way. I hate seeing him sick.
He woke up this morning slightly better in the eye but he cold part is even worse.
STUPID DAYCARE. sorry, I'm just upset because I was hoping that his immune system would be a little stronger than this. One week at the daycare and he's already sick. He's never really been really sick before. He had a tiny cold after Christmas (like a one day cold) but nothing like this. It breaks my heart and makes me want to pull him out ASAP! But I know we have to try at least to get adjusted and give this a good try. If its still not working out for us I know we can find something else anytime. I just feel like he deserves to be somewhere clean and where he gets lots of love and I don't feel like he's getting that there. It kills me. Its a nice daycare and the people are nice. But I feel like he's too young to be there. When I went to pick him up Thursday I cried hard after I left. Because walking in that room reminded me of walking into a cattle barn. He was just sitting there in a toy by himself. Other babies were sitting in there toys by themselves. It was so sad. He deserves better. He is my baby boy and he deserves so much. He deserves love and attention and happiness. Call me a spoiling mama or whatever. I don't care if that's what it is. I just feel like he's too young. He isn't being spoiled, its called being loved. When he's older he can play and walk and talk and sing songs. But right now he's just stuck in some toy and left. I hate that! It makes me NEVER want to take him there again. Sorry for the rant but I'm dealing with so many conflicting emotions right now about it all.
Anyways, hopefully Coop will feel better soon. Until then I will take good care of him and make him feel the best I can. He's been sleeping on us and cuddling like you've never seen him cuddle before. Poor baby just doesn't feel good.
I hope the rest of you are having a good weekend.
