Happy Birthday

Today is a very special day. Its the day my mom was born 50 years ago. My beautiful Mother.
She is by far the most amazing women I've ever known and I truly love her with all of my heart. My mom is my best friend, she is my amazing mom, She is my supporter, she is there for me always. We laugh together, cry together, talk for hours. She is my everything and I hope this year is an absolutely amazing year for her.
She is such a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother and person to everyone she comes into contact with.

Here are just a few pictures of my beautiful mom with us kids and grand kids and my dad.

We love you mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Beautiful Blogger
Thank you Lori at Everyday Blessings and Katie at Life as an army wife for nominating me for this award. Go check out their great blogs!! http://findingblessingsineveryday.blogspot.com/
http://katiefinn411.blogspot.com/

Here are the award rules:

1) Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2) Copy the award & place it on your blog.
3) Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4) Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself
5) Nominate 7 bloggers.
6) Post links to the 7 blogs I nominate.

Here are my 7 interesting things:

1. I hate bathtubs. Despise them is a better word. I know its crazy seeming but I can't hardly stand to sit in a tub on that cold hard floor, with in my opinion your own dirty water floating around you. Yuck.

2. I absolutely cannot wait to have another baby. I would do it tomorrow if I could I'm just waiting as patiently as I can until we are able to work on #2. Parenthood is such a beautiful rewarding gift from God.

3. My house is a disgusting mess as we speak. I sit at work all day long wishing I could go home and get started on my hideously messy home. Our room looks like a clothes explosion took place in there. Its insane. Tonight I will tackle it full force, flip on the bachelor (I'm actually really excited to watch) and I might even bust out the real cleaning supplies and dust, windex, sweep and vacuum when I'm done. ITS BAD LADIES, I'm embarrassed!

4. I love my son more than I ever thought a person could love another. I know every mom feels that way but sometimes I'm amazed at this special and amazing love I can feel for my child. What a blessing he is. My husband and I are so happy and lucky to have him. That's another thing. My husband is the most amazing wonderful man ever and my love for him is above and beyond. He will be my other half for my entire life.

5. I have horrible road rage, although I've stopped the angry talk now that Cooper is with me. I don't ever do anything about it. But I get so MAD when someone does something stupid or totally goes against traffic rules every human that is driving should know. I just dislike ignorant people. I'm getting better though now that Coop is here. I don't want him to grow up with a mommy that screams curse words at every crazy person on the road. That would be allot of screaming.

6. I'm a very goofy, opnionated, loud, talkative, outgoing, and friendly person. I laugh often, talk all the time (strangers, or whoever).

7. I love love love my family. Extended and immediate. I find my happiest moments and most wonderful times of my life Is when I'm with my parents, brothers, and there significant others, niece, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I love big family gatherings. I love time spent with one another.

Ok well thats all for me.

Now its your turn.... Here are the girls I nominated for this award.

Happy Friday Everyone

Here I sit, rocking out to "Thriller" a song that always seems to be able to put me in a good mood. You just can't help but move when you hear that song.
I hope all of you are having a wonderful Friday.

This morning as I lay in bed. My hubby brought Coopy to me and lay him down next to me. It was dark in our room but I could still see him. I was just waking up and I just started laughing. There he was (Cooper( laying there on his back all content with life talking to himself non stop. Its like a real conversation too. Its Aaaagh, gah, gahaaaa, aaaaa, iiihaaa, gaaaagaaa, (add a few growls and grunts in there). It was so funny. I mean he does this all the time but it was just funny to me to sit there and listen to him in the dark just talking away like he has something really important to say. I turned on my lamp which was blinding to my sensitive blue eyes. I look over and there he is grrrraaaahhing away with a huge smile just looking at me. SOOOO STINKING CUTE!
I just wish I had my video camera in there because it would have been such a fun video to share.

Tomorrow is my moms birthday party. The big 50! My aunt and Uncle from Tennessee are coming to celebrate and all of our family and friends will be there. It will be so much fun, I just hope mom has the best time ever. I'll make a follow up email of the party Sunday or Monday. Her actual birthday is Monday and I plan on writing her a special happy birthday blog that day. I just love my mom more than words can ever explain. She is the most amazing mother God could have ever blessed me with and she deserves the most amazing things in life.

Well I hope you all have a safe and fun weekend.
I will leave you with a picture I have of Cooper smiling. Its not a new one but oh is it so darn cute.

A very depressing post.

The Today show January 7th 2010 aired a chilling 911 call from a desperate mother who's 1 year old son had gotten caught in a soccer goal in the families back yard. The child was not breathing.
Today aired this to bring up the issue that the poor mother did not recieve help during this horrific call, she was actually treated as if she had purposely hurt her child herself.
She is now out trying to make awareness that there are untrained 911 operators and that they should never let an operator who is untrained and unable to help someone to take these calls.

My family has had to call 911 before and the operator was very helpful and offered up things to do while we waited for the ambulance and fire department to arrive. They usually try to tell you that help is on the way, and try to help you and give you tips on things you can try to help your loved one out while you wait. Things they say sometimes actually result in us saving our loved ones life because of the help of the operator.
I truly appreciate the men and women who are strong enough to take these sad and painful calls and help these people out. So in no way am I bashing 911 operators in this post. I am simply upset at this particular operator and how he treated this poor women.

I was getting ready this morning and was watching the today show since my stupid radio in my bedroom doesn't work anymore.
Anyways, this poor women was on the show. She was a mother of a 1 and 4 year old little boys. She was watching cartoons with the boys and dozed off with them all three on the couch. Somehow the 1 year old got up and wandered to the back door, managed to open it without being heard and went outside to play. His mother woke up not long after and noticed he wasn't on the couch with her and the 4 year old. Started searching and found him hanging from the soccer goal in the back yard. She called 911 and was screaming "help me, help me, he's not breathing" and she kept screaming "please Matthew don't leave me, don't leave mommy".

She screamed and begged for help, she was hysterical, it was heartbreaking. She had no idea what to do, she kept begging the 911-operator to tell her what to do, "what do I need to do" "Please help me". (my quotes may not be perfect, but this is the basic gist of what she was saying).
I started crying so hard and couldn't stop watching this no matter how sad and depressing it was.

Needless to say, the baby died. They showed all these pictures of him and home videos, he was a sweet innocent little 1 year old. Such a beautiful little boy. The mother didn't necessarily do anything wrong. She just dozed off with her two boys right there on the couch with her. Never even imagined something like that could ever happen. Its not like she let him go outside alone and play.
The 911 operator was horrific. He kept telling her to calm down. It was insane. Sure a mother with a child that is blue in the face, not breathing is going to "calm down". The 911 operator told her to calm down about 8-12 times and even says to someone in the office with him out loud on the phone with this poor helpless mother "she says the baby got caught in the soccer net, or maybe she put him in it" or something horrific like that. It was crazy. Now the family is on the today show trying to talk about what a flawed 911 system we have and how they didn't help her at all. They were actually busy accusing her of killing him instead of helping her. They didn't even offer her advice on what to do to try to save him.
I cried, Had to force myself to turn this off. It was so sad. All I could think of was my sweet baby Cooper and how absolutely life killing it would be to me if something was to ever happen to him. I prayed all the way to work about the family and about our son and future kids.
So sad. It just tears me up inside. Especially now that we have a son. Listening to that recording of her 911 call was bone chilling. I wish I hadn't heard it but I guess it will just make me even more nervous and careful with Cooper. Overly protective is fine with me as long as it prevents accidents with our baby boy. I hear people say that they are afraid that they are too protective and careful with there kids. I understand you can't put them in a bubble. But this is proof that there are things you need to be extra careful about and try to eliminate any hazard. They probably never realized that the soccer net was a hazard, they were always outside with the kids when they were out there. Never did it occur to them that he might wander out there alone, ever.

I prayed and prayed for this poor family, I prayed for my family. I told God that I don't understand why this sort of thing has to happen to these sweet children. But I trust that God has his reason and I prayed so much that he would watch over my own baby and keep him healthy and safe from harm.
Such a tragedy.

I use this blog as a journal of my sons milestones and daily life. Of our families life. I use this blog as a place to let out my feelings. This is bothering me, this story. So I had to share it and honestly I don't want to talk about it out loud because I don't want to depress everyone I'm around so I will post it on here. I apologize If I depressed any of you by posting this. I just had to talk about it to someone because as a mother we all have our fears and worries and this just hit home.
God is the only person we can look too to watch over our sweet families and babies. So I put my trust in God.

Life is so funny sometimes

I have what I would consider a fun and goofy personality. I like to sing out loud and I laugh all the time, Usually even thinking things that others don't think are that funny. I also get really excited about things I think are funny.
Example and reason for me blogging this. Today, my boss asked me if I could remember what the group "Andre 3000" was in? I said "Outkast". Then I of course bust into the first Outkast song I could think of "roses". One that I think is actually really funny. (P.S if you have a child around don't listen to this one, there is some language). But honestly the whole song cracks me up and I just love singing to it.
I still have this song on my ipod from years and years ago. It was popular when I was in high school. Such a fun one. Anyways, Of course I'm singing it and laughing and I don't think my boss thought it was as funny as I do but I loved it. Sometimes I just wish others laughed with me. It makes me feel sort of dorky and stupid. But oh well it was fun either way. :)
Another example of my goofy sense of humor. Last night the hubby and I put on a favorite movie we haven't seen in a while "anchor man". Yes its stupid and ridiculous, but my gosh is it funny. I found myself laughing and yet again repeating the phrases, there are so many throughout the movie, like "I love scotch, scotchy scotch scotch" Or "how now brown cow" and "unique new york, unique new york", "I LOOK GOOD, HEY EVERYBODY, COME SEE HOW GOOD I LOOK", HAHAHAAA "you ate the whole wheel of cheese, I'm not even mad, I'm actually impressed". I know its so stupid but I laugh at it still. I'm laughing right now. Maybe its because I have two brothers and was surrounded with this man humor but I find this stuff funny.

Anyways enough of that, Last night I went and got my hair highlighted. My husband sent me a picture of Cooper sitting in his little exersaucer. He LOVES to play now. He is just changing so much these days. He is so much more active and playful. He has such a personality and boy does he get mad when he doesn't get what he wants. But on the flip side he still loves to lay his little head down on my chest and cuddle like my little cuddly bug he is. I love it.
I'll have to post some more pics of him on here tomorrow so you all can see him changing each week. I decided to post this before I leave work today (its after 5 no worries). But I can't attach pictures from hear. Bummer huh. So until tomorrow.

1 year ago today

1 Year ago today, My husband and I took this picture.
Seconds after this picture was taken we walked out the door, climbed into my suv and headed out on the highway from Tulsa Oklahoma to St. Louis Missouri. This was the trip that started the best thing we have ever done in our entire lives. We went to the IVF clinic for our egg retrieval. We had a few bumps on the way to the retreival but in the end we have had a successful and wonderful baby. This picture is such a great reminder of the nerves and excitement. What a wonderful journey we have been on.

M.I.A

Well there I go dropping off the face of blog world again. I mean sometimes when life gets crazy and I don't get to hop on and see how things are going for everyone else for a day or two or even three sometimes. I feel like I miss a ton! Its amazing how much happens for some of you girls in 2-3 days.
Cooper and I just got over the dreaded cold thats going around. I started feeling sick a week ago and it got worse as the week went on. Poor sweet Cooper started getting stuffed up around Tuesday. The next thing you know he and I ended up laying around home sick for the past 3 days. I didn't even get on the computer to check my blog. We were very lazy and we are actually both luckily starting to feel much better. Cooper still has a little of the yucky crud in his throat but its getting better. I'm just so glad that this didn't last 2-3 weeks like some of you have mentioned it lasting with your kids.
I have to say though, seeing my baby sick was the worst ever! I've never seen him with a cold. I've never seen him have trouble breathing, or have a runny nose, I've never had to sit there and listen to his throat rattle when he breathed before. It was heartbreaking. I'm so thankful to God that he got us through this one quickly and we are past it now. I just pray that we have a safe and healthy year ahead of us.
I hope all of you had a wonderful and safe new years. J, Cooper and I went to dinner with some friends and then stayed safe and sound at home and rang in the new year with our friends. 2009 was probably the best year of my entire life. My husband and I went through the joys of pregnancy, and how close it brought us. Even more close than we had ever been before. It brought us through having our son and his first 3-1/2 months of his life. I'm happy and excited to enjoy 2010 with my sweet baby boy and husband and I just want to send out a prayer to God that he watches over my family, my sweet husband and my baby boy this year. Keeping us safe from harm and happy and healthy. YAY 2010.

Well I will be trying to catch up with everyones blogs here for the rest of the weekend. I hope your all good.
