last year at this time, and my mom

Last year at this time, I didn't really celebrate mothers day yet. I was pregnant almost 5 months along at that point and although I knew the pregnancy was going well, I just felt like the first mothers day I wanted to celebrate was going to be the mothers day where I had my baby boy in my arms. Here I am waiting patiently to celebrate for the next year. Dreaming and imagining what life will be like one year from then. Its amazing what can change in a year. How much your life can get better and how much you can love another person. I am so excited and feel truly blessed to be a mommy! :)

Now I'm going to switch gears. Because I should start by saying that the reason I wanted to be a mom. The reason I dreamed of rocking my baby to sleep at night and kissing those puffy cheeks, of taking vacations and having my kids be so excited. All the reasons I dreamed of being a mom are because of my own mom. God blessed my life, he brought me to my parents who are absolutely amazing. He blessed me with a mom that is kind, thoughtful, caring, beautiful, heartfelt, silly, fun, bright and happy, loving. I could go on for days, truly I could. My mom has been my rock, she has been the person I can turn to for ANYTHING! She has been my best friend, and she has most importantly been my mom. The person who taught me how to act like a lady (although she's allot more proper than I am most of the time):)
She taught me to love, she taught me to watch over my own baby boy. She showed me the kind of mom that I dreamed of being my whole life. I love my mom more than words can even express and I want to thank her for the beautiful life she has helped me to live. Thank you mom! Thank you for making our house a home, for loving us always through thick and thin. I LOVE YOU!

God thank you so much for blessing my life with a mother who loves me and teaches me and takes care of me the way that my mom does. I pray to you daily to help me to be the mother that she has been to me and will be to me, to Cooper. Thank you over and over for her God. You amaze me.

I don't have pictures of mom and I when I was little on my computer at my house. So I'll just put a few from the past few years :)

Our weekend

We have been so busy the past few weeks. I realized that summer is always crazy for us. We are big on projects and like to constantly be doing things. We have 3 really big house projects going right now. We are a very active family. Work is picking up also leaving me way less time to blog :( However I've been checking in and reading about all of you. Friday night some friends of ours came over and we ate dinner. Someone (not sure who) jokingly said, lets do karaoke... We don't have a Wii so that wasn't happening however my husband reminds us all that he had this super old 90's karaoke machine that his friend left at our house years and years ago when we had a b-day party for my hubby. We call his b-day Julian fest every year, but that's a whole other story altogether. For another post.
So we busted out the old karaoke machine, 90's Cd's and all. It was hilarious. So funny! Here are some pics of all of us. Of course Cooper too, enjoying our great voices :)

We had allot of fun goofing around :)

Then on Saturday we spent the day together shopping and running errands. Saturday night we went over to a friends to watch some fight that was on. We had a good time. Cooper played with all the kids that were there. They were so cute, they (kids from ages 2-8 years old, 4 of them) kept calling Cooper "Coopa". So sweet. They really liked him.

Sunday we got up and fed Cooper, I had to take some pictures because I realized how big he's looking in his highchair these days. Its crazy! Just look at his little sleepy morning eyes. So cute!

We went to church and then came home. Cooper is pulling up on any and everything he can get his hands on. He's moving fast now when he crawls and I just don't get how fast he went from sitting and rocking in a crawling motion to 2 weeks later he's crawling fast and pulling up and standing without our help one bit. He falls of course which is sad for him and scares us. So we are now next to him constantly in fears he will fall. Here are some pics of Cooper in his room Sunday after church.

He crawled, climbed and played until he was tired. We put him down for his nap and he went to sleep. We hear a noise on the monitor and it sounded weird so I peaked my head in to check on him and this is what I found :) Haha. Well look at that. Someone learned how to climb his crib also.

This picture was taken when I was 1 week from being induced. We went to a friends house to watch the OU and OSU football games. I couldn't fit in any of my football t-shirts so I wore pink so I could pull for both teams. (They weren't playing each other or else I would have definitely been wearing crimson and cream:)
My friend Shrease and I were playing with one of my best friends little girl. Her name is Anniston and she is such a cutie girl. We had a great time that day just spending the day with friends and cooking out.

Now I will pass this on to 8 other bloggy friends.

Grandma, Grandpa and Cooper

My parents were on there way home from my cousin's graduation today and they drove through the town we live in on there way back to there house (2 hours away). They stopped in for some dinner and a visit with Cooper and I. Julian had to work tonight, but Cooper and I and mom and dad and a friend of mine went and got something to eat. Before we left my mom and dad had Cooper laughing really hard. It was so cute, so I grabbed my video camera. I only caught the very end of it but here it is :)

My husband has a blog.

OK so this may be a strange thing to post about but I think its time.

My husband is what I would consider a very funny dry sense of humor kind of guy. He gets just about every person he meets laughing but not in some comedian sort of way. Just speaking his mind and not even trying.
Some months back, he asked me if it would be weird of him to start a blog??? A blog about nothing. Sort of like Seinfeld in blog form. He said he has topics daily, just random things he wants to talk about (usually funny ones to top it off). And his friends are always telling him that the things he talks about and say are so funny and that he should be a late night guy or something like that. So I of course told him to do it. Not because of readers, and not for anyone else but himself. Well he did it and yes its a guys blog, with random crap and all. Its actually called "Random crap blog"! And yes I know I'm biased because I'm married to the man but I seriously think he's hilarious. He's such a good writer. So I just thought I might mention it to you ladies to go check it out, read a post. Leave a comment if you want. Also any of you who know a man that enjoys a good read they could also pop on over and check it out. I bet you money you'll catch yourself laughing.

Check it out...http://caserandomcrap.blogspot.com/
Apparently my URL link attachment thing isn't working, I'm trying to figure out why. So if you try the link and it doesn't work than just go type in the blog url. Its caserandomcrap.blogspot.com

Mutant giant rat!

So just for fun I wanted to leave this post. Only because some of you might have noticed this if you had been paying close attention to the pictures in my last post.

There is a picture of my mom going down the slide with Cooper. In this picture it appears that there is some sort of mutant giant rat running underneath the slide. I noticed this just in passing yesterday and Immediately sent my mom and husband an email. We were all at work.
In the email I told them that I wasn't sure but that it looked like something really creepy and gross was running under the slide at the exact time of the picture. YIKES!
My mom sends me an email back that says that she too agrees that there is some sort of Alien like mutant rat under the slide. My husband sends us both an email laughing and telling us that its the weed block from under the mulch on the playground set that is coming up in the wind. He reverts us both back to a previous picture higher up on this post showing Cooper and him coming down the same slide with a piece of weed block under the slide. My mom and I both with the help of a handful of employee's at our companies researched and looked over both pictures. Both of us concurring that this was most definitely a huge rat. HAHA! It was so hilarious going back and forth, I have co-workers in my office studying the picture, she has co-workers studying both of us had our bosses look it over and we were baffled. Only a select few saw that it could resemble the weed block. So for fun I thought I would bring it up to you and let you look at it. Its a pretty creepy pic of weed block I must say :) Go check it out. Freaks me out. Even if it is plastic. My mom concluded with an emailing agreeing with Julian that basically told him that although she doesn't think that the mutant rat whatsoever resembles a piece of weed block she agrees that most likely it was a weird angle that just so happened to catch the block in some sort of weird state making it out out to look like some giant animal under the slide. PRICELESS. I cracked up.
Go check it out, tell me what you think. Its on my last post.

Weekend with the family!

We went to visit my parents and brothers this weekend. I missed them like crazy! We had a great weekend, let me give you a quick re-cap. Friday night we went to a friends house for a cookout. We had so much fun. Add Image Remove Formatting from selection
Saturday morning we headed for mom and dad's and made it by lunch time. We went to our usual lunch place when we go to visit, the Greek House. MMMM. This place is so good. After lunch we headed back to mom and dad's. But on the way we stopped at this really fun park they have by the campus. It was so cute. It looked like a huge castle, and had all sorts of hands on things that kids could do. I played with some of the musical toys with Cooper while my niece went down slides. Cooper swang for a minute but didn't care to much for the swing set. not sure why really?

We left because it started to rain and my mom and I needed to go to the store.
We then came home to the guys playing football outside and my niece Natalie was playing sidewalk chalk. We stayed outside for a while and enjoyed the nice weather. Then we all went for ice cream. YUM! It was one of those frozen yogurt places where you get to put whatever you want on it. Mine was some sort of berry flavored yogurt covered in all types of fruit. It was amazing! Sunday we got up and went to church, then went to the music/art festival they were having in town. That was??? Well OK let me break it down for you. I love love love music. I am a very musical artistic person so I appreciate music and art. However this was sort of strange. Its like every hippie under the sun comes out. Which I have absolutely no problem with whatsoever. However what I do have a problem with is people who don't wear deodorant and they smell like they just took a 40 mile jog in 100 deg weather. They stunk BAD! and smiled up a storm. Well today while at the art festival, we saw some. They were being sold in a booth and so I walked over to look at them and my mom was like "oh my gosh, he loved that one he saw yesterday". Sure enough, when Julian brought him over to see them he smiled from ear to ear reaching for them. So my mom decided she would let him get one. It was so funny, we found one named "Ralph", I like to call him The music was nice, the art was nice. I saw some super cute headbands that were so fun and I decided instead of paying $25.00 for one how fun it would be to make my own. So I inspected it really closely and I am going to go buy the supplies tomorrow and try to make one. Apparently Saturday Cooper saw a sock Monkey on tvRalphy. But anyways, he has his tongue hanging out. Cooper has lately been obsessed with hanging his tongue out of him mouth its so funny. So mom bought him his little sock monkey and he hasn't been able to put that thing down since he got it. He loves it!
Anyways, we had a good time but didn't stay too terribly long. We went back to mom and dad's and spent the rest of the day hanging out and relaxing. I had a terrible headache due to my stupid annoying allergies. But luckily a short nap and some Advil took care of that.

I have to tell you all. Cooper loves his grandparents. Of course he does, but this weekend Cooper started showing quite the interest in my dad. It was the most absolute adorable thing I've ever seen. I felt some sort of special joy watching my little boy ooh and aah as he stared at my dad. He would lean around you just so he could see my dad. He would smile non stop anytime my dad was in eye sight. He leaned to him whenever he saw him. He LOVES my dad. I loved watching him as he looked adoringly at his grandpa. Its the cutest thing ever! Just wanted to share that with you because it was seriously adorable. Now we are home and tired and ready for bed. But I decided I would post really quick and say hi. I hope all of you had a good weekend. I'll have to spend this next week playing catch up again. :)We left because it started to rain and headed home so the kids could take a nap and I went to run errands with mom.
