For starters, We had a family date night Friday night and we took Cooper to Incredible Pizza for dinner. He's still a little too young for this place but he seemed to have fun :)

Second, our sweet baby boy took a little fall in the living room this past Saturday morning and hit his eyebrow bone on our coffee table. This resulted in stitches :( Not a fun morning in my opinion. He did such a good job though.

Basically Cooper was eating some breakfast with me as I sat on the couch he stood before me. He was leaning on my leg and lost his footing and went flying face first into the coffee table. It sounded bad but when I picked him up it wasn't a goose egg, and all I saw was a small scratch on his eyebrow. I carried him to our kitchen to get a better look and by the time I got in there his eye was gushing blood. My husband had just left to run an errand so I ran back to our bedroom with Cooper to get my cell phone and called him quickly telling him to come home. I knew Cooper needed stitches, The cut looked incredibly deep. Luckily Julian was very close by and was in the door before I could get my bra and shoes on. I was still in my pajamas and so was Coop but we ran out the door looking like that.
We took him to the after hours pediatric emergency center. We called while we were on our way. They got us in pretty quickly and by the time we were back in the room Cooper was acting completely normal. He was smiling and laughing and saying hi to all the nurses and he was flirting and being so sweet. The nurse had to numb the area and she was talking to Cooper and he was just talking back and smiling and as she got closer with the cotton swab that had the numbing cream on it he stopped talking looked at her really concerned like and said "UHOH" so seriously. Like he knew it might hurt or something. It was so funny.
The nurse busted out laughing. She said "your my favorite" to him.:) He did great, the whole thing went well. He cried while getting the stitches but other than that he was so happy. It absolutely breaks my heart that my little 16 month old had to get stitches already. We are already researching a new leather soft edged coffee table. I love our wooden one but with another baby on the way, chances are too high that there could be other accidents. So we are getting rid of ours.
The rest of the weekend we stayed in and rested and we took some walks because it was gorgeous outside. 70 degrees. It was amazing.
However last night a storm rolled through and slammed my hometown. The worst snow storm in like 20 years. For some of you ladies who live in states where large snow is normal, this will seem like nothing to you. But for us Okies this is craziness. We got about 16-20 inches of snow. We can't leave our house, people are stranded all over the place in large four wheel drive vehicles. We are not equipped or ready for this type of weather here. Its going to take days for this to get clear enough for us to drive. Luckily my boss called and canceled work for tomorrow already.

I'll try to find some before and after shots and I will post them tomorrow.
Have a nice evening girls.

Poor Coop! Hope his stitches heal very quickly.
I cannot believe all of that snow! Our town would be "closed down" for weeks!
Love the update! Poor little Cooper I can def imagine it hurt Mama worse! We actually don't have a coffee table cuz my Hubby likes to sit on the floor LOL but if we did we would do one ofthose bog ottoman leather things like you said!
PS Love the pics!
poor little Coop; accidents are going to happen & I am dreading the 1st bad one we have with B!! So happy he handled it all like a big boy & can't wait to see the pictures of the house!
Awww, poor Cooper!! Sounds like you handeled his stitches like a supermom & I'm glad he did great too! I can't believe all of that snow! We are getting hit hard here in Dallas but mainly ice...so everything is closed down! It's a nice break and good excuse to stay in and snuggle with the baby! :)
Enjoy your snow day!!!
Matt had a spill like that when he was 13 months and now I wonder if I should have taken him to the hospital for stitches!!! No scar, but looks about the same. That's so scary and head wounds bleed so much (as do mouth wounds...ew). Glad he was such a trooper though...it's still scary!
I had the same problem with my little guy when he was around Coop's age---falling head first into the coffee table. I moved the coffee table out of the living room until he was around 2! I've heard of coffee table corner covers that slip onto the edges of your table (plastic protecters), in case you would be interested in those instead of having to rid your coffee table for another.
I love reading your updates. All the best to you! And good luck with that snow--holy moly!

Poor thing! It sounds like he was such a big boy though! We moved our coffee table upstairs to the game room because as wild as Riley is, I knew something like that would happen! Wow, yall got a TON of snow! We didn't get any this time, but that's ok bc I'm ready for spring!!
Poor Coop...sounds like he was a champ! Looking forward to seeing some home pics.
Poor Mr. Cooper! Hope he is feeling better and you are enjoying your snow day. We are!
awe, poor Cooper! I've been trying to convince my husband to let me get rid of our glass top dining table for this exact reason! We don't have kids yet but I'm trying to plan ahead :)
I can't believe the snow this year. Usually we get way more out in Idaho, but it's been mild for us compared to everywhere else. Good luck!
Poor Coop!! We havent had any accidents that required stiches YET...but I can only imagine how scary it will be!!
Poor little man! I swear, what is it with coffee tables? GG hit the back of her resulting in a little bleeding, huge goose egg bump, but fortunately no stitches. I have thought about moving the table out a million times...
Hope he's hanging in there, what a trooper!
P.S. More shots of you, please! Gotta see Momma's growing bump, friend!
I don't know how I found your blog, but am glad I did! You have the cutest little boy and cutest little baby bump!
I saw you went through IVF for your miracle babe.. We didn't have to go that route but had multiple miscarriages before getting our angel. Doesn't it make you appreciate them so much more?!?
poor cooper! but it sounds like he was a very brave boy! love the pics, hes so dang cute~ we got that snow too...at my house (i live 30 minutes east of st louis) we got a few inches of ice and sleet and an inch or two of snow....but 30 min west of stl, they got pounded with snow after the ice...like you! and we have a chance for snow the next 3 out of 7 days!
Hey Melissa, don't tell but you may want to swing by my blog soon. You've got a little surprise waiting on you...just know you're busy and didn't want you to miss out! :)
Hugs,
Shannon
