37 week doc visit

First of all I want to apologize for completely dropping off the face of the earth these days. I've been somewhat miserable feeling and when I get home from work I'm pretty much bed rested.

About 3 weeks ago I started having excruciating rib pain, I caught a cold Cooper had and was pretty miserable. After all the coughing I realized that I had really hurt my rib cage. I tried to lay around as much as possible the week following trying to let them heal. Then two weeks ago while at a friends house I was standing there not doing anything at all when all of the sudden I had a sharp pain right at the top of my uterus bottom of my right rib cage. So bad I couldn't stand up straight. It was terrible. I ended up laying on the couch the rest of the night and was barely able to stand up straight to walk the next day. I called my doctor that night and the on call doctor told me to take it easy, that I must have pulled the rib away from the bone. How in the world? I wasn't even doing anything at the time.
It took 3 to 4 days for that to even start to feel much better and the past 3 or 4 days have been much better, thank the lordy.

Today I had my 37 week appointment. I was feeling like there was probably nothing to see but once we got the appointment started my doctor was questioning how long my legs and feet have been "this swollen". He knew my feet were swelling but my legs weren't and today both of my entire legs and my feet are huge. He seemed a little bothered by this. Then he checked me for the first time this pregnancy and said that I'm dilated to a good 4. I think he means I'm definitely a 4, may be a 5 soon.
It could be any day now, or nothing at all will happen. We will see???
I'm actually waiting on a call right now from my nurse because they want to induce me next week if I haven't gone into labor on my own. So sometime between now and late next week we will meet our sweet baby girl. I'm excited and nervous and so many things. I just ask for every ones prayers for a safe and healthy delivery and that our baby girl is healthy and perfect.

I have a good laugh for you guys

So Wednesday night my husband picked up our son after work and told me he wouldn't be home until 6:30 or so. I asked why??? And he told me they had some things to do for mothers day. So I called him on my way home from work to see if I had time to jump in the shower before they got home. I figured I would shave and kill some time since they wouldn't be here instead of taking it after Cooper went to bed and it was getting late.
My husband told me they were running late and to go on ahead and take one.

So at 6:00 on the dot I get into my Teeny tiny shower. Its a very small stand up shower that you literally can't bend over in barely. I can't shave now that I'm pregnant in there because I have no space its that small.

I jump in,wash my hair and suddenly I hear a BANG! I turn and see out of the frosty glass door that the infant whale tube we had for Cooper that we had propped up on the wall outside of the shower had fallen over. I didn't think anything of it.

Instead I kept showering. I let the water get cool and took a really good steamy shower to help my muscles since they have been so sore. I had no hot or even warm water left anymore and I turned off the water. I'm guessing its about 6:20 at this point.

I go to open the door to get my towel and the door is completely wedged shut and won't budge. OH MY GOSH!!!! The whale tube is perfectly wedged between the shower door and the wall of the bathroom... How am I going to get it moved. I can't even get the door open a crack big enough to fit my hand out.
I stood there for about 10 minutes thinking my husband might come home soon and get me out.
Nope!

20 minutes into my water being off I'm getting frustrated and I'm pushing the door hard and really trying to get it to open. Nothing!!
I almost start to cry and I stop myself. I want to laugh but I'm so mad because I feel like I'm never getting out.
I started to think about singing to myself and all I could think of was "I wanna dance with somebody" By Whitney Houston. HAHA.
SO here I was laughing crying, darn near singing 80's tunes to myself waiting for someone to come save me. My legs were hurting and I didn't dare think of sitting, EWE!! That is one of those things that is OH SO gross to me. The bottom of a bath or shower disgusts me. I don't take bath's for this very reason.

At this point its now been 45 minutes, still no husband. Still no help. I have banged on the door so much that the top screws are coming out and I can almost wedge my face out the door to see around the corner of the shower and look at my alarm clock. I can't get my hand out of the bottom or anything and there was no way I could get out. The bottom was still wedged tightly shut.

I waited about 15 more minutes. Its been about an hour now since I turned off the water and I finally decide to try one last time to bang the door open, I tried reaching my hand as low down on the door as I could, I turned my wrist and was almost able to touch the edge of the whale tub so I pushed harder. FINALLY I flicked the edge of the tub with my long finger it just move a little to the side. Just enough for me to slip my body out of the shower.

Oh my gosh, I was stuck Naked, cold, and in a very small tiny space for an entire hour, what a nightmare. Seriously only I could do this.

I ran to my bed and laid down, I thought I might pass out. My ankles and legs hurt so bad and I felt light headed. Ha, I was having a panic attack probably.

I called my husband and of course he was almost home now. I told him what happened and he was like "Oh my gosh, babe, you've been stuck in the shower this entire time".

Yep, only ME!

He got home and checked the door out on the shower, I had completely stripped the top screws and they and even knew ones no longer will screw in up at the top. Woops! I wanted out. It was worth it.
The door is still off and we are in the process of getting it fixed.
It was quite the experience.

I mean seriously stuck in your shower. It seems unreal but nope "THAT HAPPENED".

Post 6 of 6 35 Weeks and a doctor's appointment

35 weeks! I can't hardly believe I'm so close.

We saw the doc this week and he measured for the first time and estimated our little Blake is already 6lbs 6oz's. WOW! If this is true that would make her bigger than Cooper was when he was born. I still have 4-5 more weeks to go. I'm terrified of giving birth to a big baby. Cooper's birth was so easy, so smooth, I am just praying for this one to be also. I'm happy to hear she's healthy and fatty.
The doctor also mentioned that her tummy was chunky and she has a really good layer of fat built already.

I wonder when I will have her? Will I go to 39 weeks and be induced? Will I go into labor on my own?

I've gained about 35 lbs already. That seems like a lot to me.
There doesn't seem to be any activity yet, which is good since I'm only 35 weeks. However I would be ok with going into labor anytime after 37 weeks.
The doctor could see Blake practicing her breathing, she was breathing the amniotic fluid smoothly in and out. That's such a great sign that she's getting those lungs ready.

I go back in two weeks, my doc is out of town next week. So 37 weeks we will see what's going on and they will check to see if I'm dilated at all.

Please keep sweet Blakely and I in your prayers for a safe and healthy delivery.

On April 14th my very close friend Shannon had her sweet baby girl Bella Ray.
We could not be more excited for Bella and her mom and dad. They struggled to get pregnant and were told they may only have one baby if any. After two rounds of IVF they got pregnant with this little princess.

Here she is!

post 2 of 6 Blakely's nursery

Here are the pictures of Blake's nursery finally.
We don't have her big tall bookshelf done so the wall that will have that and all her special books and stuff on it is not in the pics. But for the most part the room is down and here is what it looks like. Lots of things in her room we hand made because we are on more of a budget with this baby. I think it turned out pretty good for what we were working with money wise.
I hope our baby girl loves her room :)
