I have a dilemma. Well I don't know if I would call it a dilemma really, more like a very serious decision to make. Have any of you ever heard of Ovarian drilling? There are different ways of saying it and different ways of doing the procedure but you will know what I'm talking about if you've ever heard of it.
If you have heard of it or know someone who has had this done (maybe even one of you have had it done?) I'm looking for advice on if it worked and what you know about it?
Let me just start by telling you how I got to this place I'm in right now.
I'm pretty sure most of you know my background. If you don't you can go back to the very beginning of my blog and read all about it. I don't want to bore all of those lovely ladies who know all about it already. So just quick and easy I have PCOS.
For those of you uninterested in my personal life and hearing way to much info about my cycles. Stop reading NOW!
I went to the doctor a in mid June because I had not had a period in 55 days. While I was seeing my doctor, He asked me when I was going to have another baby??? I looked at him and smiled and said "I would have another baby yesterday if I could, my problem is paying for IVF again". I explained to him that we were in the process of saving so we could go for number two. I then said to him "If you can find a quick and easy way to get me pg without IVF then lets go". Joking of course, fully knowing that the other choices do not work for me. We have tried so many things and I just don't respond well. IVF is what works for us.
My doc left the room for a minute and then returned once I was pulled together and sat down and said "lets talk about your options". He mentioned injectibles and IUI'S-he said "we've already done that with you and the outcome wasn't good, either you didn't stimulate or you over stimulated". He then mentions IVF which is always an option. Then he says "Have we ever talked about Ovarian drilling/wedging/" whatever else you want to call it. I told him we brushed on it before we decided to do IVF a couple years ago but it was really just a quick talk and the doc sort of brushed it off as if it wasn't something he really thought wasn't something he felt would benefit us at the time.
At this point he says to me that he thinks at this point that ovarian drilling might be something that we may want to consider. I'm young, I have pcos, I overstimulate on injectibles really easily. All of these things are a sign that I would be the ideal candidate for the ovarian drilling. He called it the old remedy to pcos, before injectibles really started.
I of course start asking all sorts of questions. (Remember, I didn't come prepared for this talk. I went in for period reasons and ended talking about getting pregnant again).
I asked what the success rate was? He said it all depends on the person.
What are the cons to having this done? Possible scar tissue
What are the pro's of me having this done? It could potentially help me to be pcos free for 1 month- 3 or 5 years. Who knows. It works for everyone different. Some it doesn't work at all, some have 2 or 3 babies without having any fertility problems for years. Some have one baby and then start having problems again.
What will happen if it doesn't work and I go to do IVF? Will it cause issues with the success of another IVF if the drilling doesn't work? He sort of laughed and said "No, its shouldn't cause problems with your future in doing IVF if it doesn't work. There have been cases where women get scar tissues but tests have shown that it didn't make a difference on the outcome of whether the women got pregnant doing IVF or not.
I asked as many questions as I could in the short period of time I had to think of what was being thrown at me.
There are so many things I want to talk over with him. So many things we want to know.
I'm nervous, scared, excited at the thought something could help us that isn't IVF. But Its almost like someone told me I absolutely have to have this done. I get nervous when I think about it. But then I remind myself that this is my husband and I's decision. Nobody is making it for us. We can take down the facts and think about it and make a decision on our own. I guess it just scares me.
My doc ended up telling me to go home and talk it over with my husband and that when I was ready he would be there to talk about our decision. Whether it be IVF or Ovarian drilling.
Of course my husband and I weren't planning on getting serious about doing another IVF until this time next year. But now that this is thrown at us and since I'm having so much troubles with my cycles. We are talking seriously about if we want to do this procedure or not???
I am going to make an appointment with my doctor probably in August sometime to sit down and really talk about this with him and my husband. We will then go home and talk about it ourselves and call them if we choose to do the surgery.
My point in telling all of you about this is.. I started this blog because of the things I was embarking on. At the time it was IVF. I had already done all the injectibles, had a miscarriage and multiple failed attempts. We were getting ready to do the ivf and I wanted a place to talk to others who understood. Now I have found friends that understand me, they understand the issues and struggles. Not only my fertility struggles but my being a first time mom as well. So many of the ladies who follow me aren't necessarily women who have gone through fertility issues but they are great mom's and so nice to have as bloggy friends.
I have so many wonderful mama's out there who can give great advice.
So I am asking all of you, if you want and have any information to share on this ovarian drilling subject and you do know about it. Please share with me. We of course will still be talking with our doctor. But its always nice to hear from someone who has done this or knows someone that has.
I appreciate your help girls.

Triplet baby boys! How do they do it?????
WOW, THAT'S A LOT OF BABIES!

Hey everyone! We had a fabulous weekend. Friday night we went to dinner with friends and enjoyed every minute of it. Saturday Julian, Coop and I spent the whole day together doing things at home. We truly did have a great time. Sometimes Its so nice to just be at home, enjoying being a family and spending time together. We got a lot done too, that's always nice.
Saturday night we went to dinner at McCalisters. It was nice and quiet and after dinner we went to visit Julian's cousin. His cousin's name is Jonathan. He and his wife have a little girl that is 7 years old named Trinity. Then this past year after some struggles they ended up pregnant with 3 baby boys. All came out healthy and great. The boys are now 6 months old and as precious as can be. Cooper just loves them. He is definitely a little bit rough though. He just doesn't get that you can't crawl over quickly and smack them on the head. Not cool Coop.
We had fun playing with the babies. I just don't know how they keep up with them. When they start to walk its going to be pure craziness.
Whew, it exhausts me just to imagine. But they have family and friends and sweet Trinity to help :)
Sunday we went to spent the day working in the yard. Ugh it was so hot outside! That and I put my hand on a crazy huge spider that scared the you know what's out of me. HUGE spider. Which apparently was guarding its baby spider nest of eggs. That I stumbled on next sending tiny spiders flying every which way. I looked back at Cooper who was sitting in his stroller "helping" me while I weeded for 30 minutes. He is just sitting there smiling at me from ear to ear as I scream out loud and start running away from the spiders. Ha, you think that's funny Coop?
We cooked out tonight and had my bf and her hubby come over. We had a great time.
I enjoyed my weekend so much. Cooper is an absolute joy to be around. Truly he is. I feel like he is such a great baby. He's got such a good personality. He's funny and cute. He's learning so much so fast. He's giving high fives. He's doing patty cake, he completely understands me when I say "Cooper mommy says no because......" He stops usually and changes gears. He's a great baby.
Today he slept in until 12:00. I'm not kidding. I was getting worried. He went to bed last night at 10:00 and woke up at noon. Insanity. No complaints here though. I can't WAIT to have another. I am in love with being a mom. He is such a true blessing from God!
Well as you can tell we had a wonderful weekend. Hope you all did too...

Cooper was crying at the back door wanting daddy. He wanted to help in the yard I guess?

I love this one above. He's such a cutie. I just love him to pieces.
Cooper is playing with Bailey. He just loves her.

Cooper sure does love his daddy. Pure joy shows on his face when he see's him.

Cooper loving his Bailey boo.
This one above just cracks me up. Look at both of their expressions :)

7 WHOLE YEARS!
The big day!

(I had the scan the pic above onto my computer. I don't have the cd's of my wedding pics at my house. My mom has them. Bummer! So I had to get the first wedding shot off my photogs website and the second one I scanned in. :) Whatever works right.
Us today!

Wow, 7 whole years ago my husband and I said "I do". We were young. Just a mere 20 years old. We knew what we were doing, we knew what we wanted. We may have been young and we may have been immature. But we knew we loved each other.
I can't imagine my life without him. I am so glad that we got married when we did. I'm so glad that we have gone through all the good and bad of the relationship we have had. Its all made us the loving husband and wife we are now.
I love my sweet Julian more than words can express. He is my love, my soulmate, my best friend.
I am so proud and happy to be celebrating this wonderful 7 year anniversary with him (12 years dating). We are lucky to have one another and I thank God daily for connecting our lives the way that he has.
He is a fabulous out of this world great father and husband. I'm so grateful!
I look forward to spending at least 80 more anniversary's with him :)
(Some of these pics are from about 3 years ago. any earlier and I don't have them on my computer. So I can't share them. But here are the last 3-4 years.)

This one is from our sixth anniversary. I was 5 months pregnant with our angel Coop.

This year!

Fathers day, but daddy's sick :(
Father's day 2010, my husband's very first fathers day. He deserves any and everything good for himself in this world. My sweet husband is truly an amazing, wonderful, dedicated father. He is everything I dreamed the man I had children with would be. I know it all sounds so mushy, but its true. He has never once complained about helping with anything that has to do with our sweet son. He is involved in any and everything. Even pertaining to our niece. He is just such a supportive awesome dad to our sweet Cooper. I dream every day of what it will be like to bring more children into our family. The love we give our son is over the moon and I just know that having more children will be so amazing. I think all kids deserve to be loved by there parents the way we love ours. Sweet Cooper is truly blessed with a wonderful father. Julian I love you more and more each day. You amaze me!Cooper made daddy this stepping stone with his feet print in it. He wants his daddy to have it next to his grill outside to remember his first fathers day ever! Dad loved it so much (he even got a little watery)... :)

He also got some new shorts and a wallet.Cooper also wore a little onesy, that was WAY to big for him. But it had a picture of him and daddy on it together and it said happy fathers day daddy, I love you! It was so sweet.

Which brings me to my next person I want to mention in this post. My dad! My dad is wonderful as well. He set my standard so high on what kind of man I wanted to be a father to my children. No matter what I do compare how my husband is with our son to how my dad has been to me and my brothers. Its a very hard thing to do, considering that I too am blessed for having such a great, loving and supportive dad. I love him more than I can explain. My life would be empty without him. No matter what's going on in my life, I always need and want my daddy. I need his advice constantly, I need his help, I need his love and support always. He has never failed me. He never will, and I know that. So thank you Dad for the amazing person you are to us. We love you!
Dad, and my two brothers and I and my hubs, sis in law and brothers girlfriend.

God thank you so much for all the amazing men you place into my life. My husband, my son, my father, my brothers~ You are truly gracious for the gifts you give us. These lives are so truly appreciated and loved.
I have to tell you all though that my poor hubs and dad are sick today. They both woke up feeling terrible. Fevers, hot sweats, cold chills, achy, sick to their stomachs. Its terrible. Especially since its Julian's first fathers day. He made my mothers day so amazing, so I feel like his first fathers day should be the same. Poor guy. He ended up staying home all day in bed. I went to my grandma's and my poor dad was sick there. We gave him his gifts and then left (he and my mom had to leave to head home). I got home and Cooper took a nap and so did I. Then my hubs got up and was able to come out of our room, he was feeling a little bit better so we gave him his gifts. He is still up right now but still fighting whatever is going on. I sure hope he feels better an d my poor dad also. Its terrible to see them so sick and on top of that to worry that Cooper or anyone else could be next :(
Prayers that we all can heal, get better and be healthy!
Also today was my grandmother's birthday, My dad's mom. We did her birthday gifts before we left this morning and she seemed to love her presents and having us there. Tonight she has my aunt and uncle over there to celebrate since the rest of us didn't really need to hang around all sick. Anyways, I just love her so very much. I've learned so much from my grandma and she is such a great person in my life. So to her, Happy birthday my beautiful grandmother! You mean so much to us.
Grandma with her first great grand baby Natalie.

Cooper was obsessed with my cousin Nick the past two times we saw him. Its so funny. He just stares at him. No expression except every once in a while he might smile. Its so funny.

My aunt gave Cooper a ride in a gift box. He had a blast!

I hope all of you lovely ladies had a good fathers day with your special dad's and husbands today.
Cooper helped mommy wrap!

Picture this, on and further down read about how we got to see Britney's Spears hotel room.
A friend of ours gave my husband and I some free tickets to join them at a charity event last night. We got to go to our local downtown area and visit all the high rise buildings. We got to go in hotels and see all the penthouses, we got all sorts of free food and drinks. We had WAY to much fun. My two besties and one of their hubbies went with us. My other best friends hubs was out of town this week on business but she still went with us. We walked all over downtown and I'm not gonna lie, we were pretty goofy and we laughed so much.
I'll tell you more about that later though. Lets rewind to when I got off work today before we go into our night.
Picture this....
I get home from work. No baby :( (He's at his Nana's until we get home later tonight and I miss him terribly). I walk into the empty quiet house. My hubs isn't home from work yet. I suddenly get a sad feeling in my gut. I miss my little guy. I can handle being away from him, especially on the weekends. I agree its nice to have a night without the kiddo's every now and again but Its the work week and I don't see him as much. So I'm missing him like crazy.
I run out to my car and grab my i-pod (which is fully stocked with every song you've ever heard and loved).
I hook it up to my player in the room and hit random play. I'm listening to Katy Perry, the black eyed peas, Madonna, and then what is it that comes on my i-pod. "Thuggish ruggish bone" Yes that's right. The thuggish ruggish bone by bone thugs n harmony. I'm going all the way back to like 8th grade here. Maybe even earlier. Its pretty ghetto and here I am putting on lotion. Yes I do have this on my i-pod. It makes me smile to hear old songs my brothers and friends and I once new. So anyways I remember thinking to myself "Maybe I should go turn it off, I bet Julian will walk in the door while its on if I don't". Well since my hands were all covered with lotion I didn't rush over to change the song. Sure enough, In walks my husband from work. To find me rubbing in lotion on my legs half dressed with Thuggish ruggish bone blaring through my house :) Hahaha. Talk about random. His facial expression was priceless. Awesome!
It was just a funny and very random thing for him to walk into. If you aren't familiar with this song, I suggest you go YouTube it right now so you can get the full effect of what my husband walked into when he came home.
Now onto our night out. This is the first time since my husbands Christmas party we've been out without our little man. We had an absolute BLAST! I missed Cooper more than I thought was possible though but still it was fun.
Here are some of our fun moments throughout the night.
Us girls become so goofy and fun when we get together without our kids. We aren't in mom mode wondering if our kids were tired, fed, wet, where they are? We knew the babies were safe with our families. So we got goofy and fun.
We went to a few of the nicest hotels in town. Re-done after years and years of being open. They were beautiful. We got to meet a local weather girl. Quite the local celebrity might I add. That was so cool.
We ate some really great yum food.
We went to a local Mexican food restaurant. My friends hubs goes in for lunch often. The owners know him and although they had just closed, they insisted we stay for drinks and food. They re-opened the bar and made us queso. I felt so bad but they insisted. We seriously felt like celebs. It was so neat.
Then the best part of the night was seeing the room that Britney Spears stayed in when she was in town recently. Ha ha. Yes I know this sounds ridiculous but we were seriously excited. We went into her suit and saw the room she stayed in. It was so fun!
Here are some of the pics from tonight. I labeled some...
Business man statue and I

Fire truck, not really sure why this was out there but we got on it for fun. Hey if there is a fire truck hanging out just sitting around then why the heck not???

Random Allie in downtown.

Us girls in the historical Mayo hotel.

Just being silly :)

Britney Spears stayed in this very room recently. My friend Shannon is one of her biggest fans. I love her myself but Shannon acted like she was meeting Britney herself. It was hilarious. Here is the room she stayed in. :)

Us on Britney's hotel couch. I would say that now that we got to go there we are pretty much her bf's now. Awe Britney you shouldn't have.

We had a great time. Thanks L and B for getting us the tickets. It was way to much fun.
Here are a few pics my friend Lisa took with her I-phone.

This is Shannon in the shower, Its the shower in Britney's hotel room. She was being fake Britney. She said "Its Britney Bitch"...

More firetruck shots. Ha ha. We had just jumped down off the firetruck when a girl walked out of the building we were next to. She looks at me and rolls her eyes at these two strangers who are on the firetruck getting their pics taken now that we are done. She says "Ugh, are those girls seriously up on the firetruck". She seemed so annoyed and I looked at her and said "Ugh I know". and started laughing out loud. I mean we were just those annoying girls up there taking the pictures. It was fun, I don't care what the boring people thought.

I hope all of you have a fabulous fathers day!
