6 weeks and back to work

Today our sweet baby boy is 6 weeks old. I can't believe its been six weeks already since that beautiful day he came into our lives.
I wanted to share some of his bright eyed, 6 weeks pics I took of him today with us. He's getting so big.

Also today was my first day back to work. I did cry 3 times, Once this morning when I had to tell Coop goodbye, then again right after he left with his daddy to go to Nana's. Then once more when I got to work. My co-worker asked me how I felt leaving him and I burst into tears. But after that I had a good day. He did great at Nana's and we both made it through the day. Everyone at work was really nice. They were all so happy and sweet to me telling me how glad they were that I was back. That made me feel good and I was happy to see them all. I did miss my sweet boy all day though.

I hope you all had a nice Wednesday.

Check out Lukes costume, isn't that adorable?

If you were to ask me a couple of weeks ago how I am going to handle going back to work I would have said I am sad but excited to get back to a schedule where I have to wake up, get dressed, do things outside the house. But fast forward to this weekend and my feelings have changed. Of course I'm still going back to work. With all the IVF bills and the countless fertility drugs. I really have to if we ever want to pay them off and if I ever want to try again for a second child in the next 5 years. So on Wednesday my maternity leave is up and I will be going back. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see my coworkers and enjoy getting out of the house every day but I will miss my little Cooper so much words can't describe my hearts ache that I feel right now thinking about leaving him. I'm starting to feel upset at the thought of someone else being with my son all day long and not me. I know what helps him calm down quickly, I know what makes him happy and how to fix things for him. I just hate the thought that he could be upset and I'm not there. I know it won't take long for my aunt and my nana (they are watching him) to figure him out and figure out what works but Its still not me and that makes me so sad. I know I'll be just fine and so will he but I will sure miss him and our moments we've had these past six weeks. He is my little sweet and tiny and I love him so much. So please keep us in your prayers for a nice transition for us both this week.

This weekend I had a great time with friends. Saturday during the day we went to my friends sons first birthday party. It was a costume party for the kids and her son was Yoda, SO CUTE. She dressed up to but I'm not sure who she was. We had a girls night Saturday night and it was really fun. At the end of the night all the girls came to my house to see Cooper, Everyone was really missing him. Especially me.
Then today we went to lunch with one of my husbands really good friends. They have known each other since they were kids and now my husband Julian and his friend Justin both have sons. Ours is two weeks older then theres. Its crazy though. Who would have thought that they would have boys so close in age when they were fifteen years old riding bikes and causing trouble. So I added a pic of our little Cooper and there son Landon. So cute.

So much has happened in the past 24-48 hours. Our poor Cooper has been suffering severely from this acid reflux problem but we are in the process of figuring out just how to fix him up. I'm stressed and feeling terrible for him and he's upset but we are working on it. In addition we are also having a test done to assure us that this is acid reflux and not a twisted tummy problem. That will just secure all of our feelings so we know we are on the right track. I'm ready to have all of this figured out and I truly appreciate all your suggested you guys offered to us. We have discussed many of these options with our pedi. I'll let you all know what ends up working for us. Please pray for Coop though. Its heartbreaking as many of you know to see your child in pain.

On a brighter note, We had a wonderful weekend with my family this past weekend. I was able to snap a few shots of my hubby and I and our niece and my brother holding Cooper. In case I've never mentioned this I have two brothers, One younger and one older. They are both amazing and I love them very much. My older brother is married and has a little girl. My parents are wonderful also. We have a very close family and going to see them will hopefully become something that Cooper truly enjoys and looks forward to as much as I do. Here are a few pis from our fun weekend.

Also I posted a pic of Cooper in his bath tonight. He was so calm and cute and he had this crazy stare going on. My hubby and I just laughed. He's so cute.
I hope all of you ladies are good.

Lazy days

Today has to have been one of the most lazy days we have had since Cooper was born. We (Coop and I) woke up at 8:00 and he ate, then we drifted off to sleep again and were both not officially awake until about 11:00. I rolled out of bed and went and got him, changed his diaper and fed him again. Then we both sat on the couch and watched dvr'd shows all day it seemed. I did get the 75 birth announcements addressed and ready to send out finally today. That's probably the only thing we did productive all day long. But yet I don't care, because I'm enjoying every little second of special time I have with my son. On a week from Wednesday I go back to work and although I miss the schedule of getting up and getting dressed and feeling productive, I'm already missing seeing my sweet boy all day every day. I will miss him so much.

Lately I've started to see certain things that make him calm and happy that only seem to work if mommy does them. In a way that makes me really feel good. We have a special bond and he knows who I am and he is truly comforted by me. That's a great feeling. Sometimes when he gets really fussy and no one else can seem to calm him all I have to do is take him and hold him stomach first on my chest and I lightly run my hand over his hair and he seems content and "fixed" immediately. Its so sweet and he just cuddles into me, I love it. Another thing is when we can't get him to fall asleep, sometimes the only thing that will work even if he's fussy is for me to lay down next to him. I put him on his side and I lay on my side with my nose touching his and he seems instantly better. He will drift off to sleep very quickly when I do this. Its so sweet to know that having mommies nose touching his and being that close to each other makes him comfortable and calm. I just love my little guy so much.
I don't want to take all the credit away from his daddy however. He seems to do a pretty good job of calming him too. He sure does love his mommy and daddy.

Parenthood is the best, even when your exhausted and tired and run down. These sweet little things and moments still make your heart skip a beat. So special!

I hope your all doing good today.

1 month old today

I can't hardly believe it, Today my sweet little angel baby boy is one month old. Exactly one month ago I met the person I've dreamed of meeting my entire life. My sweet baby. He is doing so much that he wasn't doing a month ago already.
Milestones up to one month are....
-He's awake a whole lot more than he was when we brought him home.
-He can sit up in his swing and his bouncy seat without rolling his body forward and his head stays put.
-He is able to hold his little head up for a minute or so without throwing it forward or back scaring us all to death.
-He is out of preemie clothes and soon out of newborn stuff.
-He has gained 2 whole pounds since the day he was born.

Our little guy is slowly but surely growing and its amazing to watch him every day. We love him so much.

We had to take him to the doctor two days ago because the past week he has been very VERY fussy and upset. He wouldn't let us put him down, He was waking up 4 times a night. He's been spitting up and very gassy. So we went to see the doc and they determined that Cooper has acid reflux. Poor baby. He is now on some meds and we are already seeing an improvement in him. He is still spitting up a little but he's allot happier than he was a week ago. I sure hope these meds work and he keeps getting better and better. Its terrible to see our little man sad.

A message to Cooper.
Cooper we love you so much, you have filled daddy and mommy's life with so much love and happiness and we are so proud and happy to be your parents. We will love you unconditionally and take care of you always. You are our special gift from God.
Thanks for gracing our life with joy and love. We love you.

And here is a picture of Coop on his one month bday.
Its the only one I could get of him right now since he's taking a nap in his swing. He looks so content though, Look at those healthy little chunky cheeks he's getting. :) Also a pic of him with Mommy and one of him with his daddy.

Oh and a big huge thanks to everyone for the sweet comments on my new hair cut. It was scary to chop it all off like that, But I do like it. I miss my long hair but I think this will be fun and sassy. I appreciate the uplifting comments ladies.

Chop chop

Before

After shots

Today I had an appointment with my hair stylist. An appointment that has been long awaited. About 8 years ago I cut all of my super long hair off. I cut it up right above my shoulders. This was before straighteners and cute short haircuts. This was the time of mushroom do's. Needless to say I didn't love it and I grew my hair super long again. Well for the past two years I've been battling with cutting it again. As most of you know its been very long for years and years and today I finally bit the bullet and chopped it off. This is a big deal for me, I don't usually deal with change well. But I did it. I went in and got a new haircut. Although its a ton shorter than it was before I think I really like it.

Here it is.....

First real night out without the little man.

This weekend my sister in laws sister got married. So the hubby and I left our little Cooper with my aunt Renee and went to the wedding. My family was there so that was nice and the wedding was beautiful. We had a great time and of course missed our little Mr. But he did a great job with my aunt Ne. It was crazy though going out without him. I've been home with him now for over 3 weeks and although I have gone places without him, they were just quick errands. My husband and I had not gone out just the two of us since before he was born and going out without your baby when both of you are with each other is weird. All I could think about was Cooper, I wonder what he's doing, how he is. I miss him, I just want to snuggle him close. I hope he's OK. So many thoughts. But I promise I did enjoy my time out though or at least try to. My niece who is seventeen months old was the flower girl at the wedding. She was absolutely adorable. She is such a little entertainer, You can't believe how friendly and outgoing this child is. As soon as the we all got to the reception she immediately went straight to the dance floor by herself to bust a move. She danced the entire night. Not stopping to even eat. It was hilarious! People were calling it the Natalie show. She was out there dancing away and she did this one move that had me laughing so hard, she put her hands in the air and lifted one leg and slowly bounced in a circle. Girl has rhythm, its amazing! How does a 1-1/2 year old have so much rhythm. I tried to catch the good dance moves on video but my camera died before I got a good video. I did get one of her just bouncing though. Trust me when I say this is not even near how she was dancing all night. She was all over the place with moves I didn't know a baby could do. My brother definitely taught her these things I bet. She also loves the song "Jump around" By the house of pain. There is a part in the song where the music makes a high pitched weeee noise and she would scream an ear pearcing scream to make the sound like the song does every time. And in the song it says "Jump around, jump around, jump up jump up and get down, jump jump jump" and she would put her hand in the air all ghetto like and jump. Ah this child is bound to be in the spotlight somehow. She had the dj's rolling, it was great. I will post the short video I have of her but like I said it doesn't even begin to show her crazy dance moves, she just bounces in this video, she must have been taking a breather. I'll try to get a video of her next week dancing for real. Its too funny. Hopefully she can teach Coop some good moves when he's able to dance. I also want to post a picture of my best friend Lisa and I. She came over for dinner last week and brought her sweet little 1 year old daughter Anniston. Anni was so sweet, she leaned in and kissed Cooper. What a cutie. Lisa and I took a picture together our very first picture of both of us with our children. Its crazy, we grew up together and now here we are taking pictures with our kids. Its amazing and wonderful.
