First and foremost I would like to start with these adorable pictures of my little loves.
Cooper and Blakely were Mickey and Minnie for Halloween. Oh my goodness were they cute!
The weekend before Halloween we took the kids to visit my family. Every year we do a junior league fun run called the Monster Dash. Its really cute, the kids all dress up and we do a mile jog/walk with them. After the fun run there is a costume contest. We met up with mom, dad, my brother and sis in law and my two nieces to do this.
The adults can enter in a 5k, so my Brother, Husband and Sis in law all did that.
My sister in law got 5th place over all. WOOHOO. Go Jamie!

The kids loved the fun run, even though it was cold. We didn't win the costume contest, but we still had a great time. My moms friends little twins actually won the costume contest. They were just precious.
We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying family time.

Halloween, we met over at my friends house and ate dinner and did trick or treating in her neighborhood with all our kids. There were 4 families and all our little ones. Cooper was so cute. He would walk up to the door and hold out his hand like "Hand me the candy, come on already". I kept telling him to say trick or treat but he would only repeat me walking up to the house, not when we were at the door. :) He wouldn't even hold up the basket he had all his candy in, just his little hand extended and ready for the candy. So funny.
Blakely just rode around happy and content with her bf Bella.

These were just two really cute pics I took of B this week. Love her to tiny little pieces!

After we did our trick or treating we ended up leaving our friends a little past Cooper's bedtime. It was about 8:30. We drove home (1 mile) and I went to put Cooper in bed. My husband had remembered that we had forgotten to get some money out for our house cleaner. He decided to run over to the ATM one block from our house. This is not something we ever really do. We don't carry cash around and we never ever go get money out of ATM's after dark. But we knew the next day we wouldn't have time before work so he just ran over there. He drove home (a straight easy 30 second drive, our house is on the main street of our neighborhood, so we are a straight shot for the busy intersection with the ATM). He pulled into our driveway and as he started to climb out of his truck a man in a hoodie came running at him pointing a gun and yelling at him to "Give him his f-ing wallet". The F word was flowing rampid out of the guys mouth from what my husband tells me.
The man started yelling at Julian to give him the wallet. Julian thought it was a joke or something. I mean its Halloween night 9:00, kids just stopped trick or treating, we live on a very busy road. He tried to see the guys face and this really pissed the guy off and that's when he realized that it was real. The guy got really mad and started yelling at him to back up and throw the wallet. So Julian backed up to our garage door and threw the walled at the guy. The man backed up and jumped in his black dodge truck and drove off.
Julian watched them drive off but couldn't get the license number. :(
He came in the front door and just stood there in front of me looking shocked and said "Oh my gosh, babe I just got robbed." I said "What"!! and he said "Yes right here in our yard, right by our front door!!!".
I got up quickly with Blake in my arms and said "Oh my gosh, call the police now".
Three police cars showed up to our house within 3 minutes. I was shaking. Oh my gosh, they could have shot my husband. They could have forced him in the door of the house and been here with my babies. So many Could have's were running through my head. Two of the officers sped off once they had the description of the vehicle to try to find them. One stayed with us until about 10:45.
I still can't believe someone would do this. And for what? 20 OR 30 dollars. Really!!!
To top off the night, after the police officer left our house. Most likely some mean kids came up on our front porch and stole the pumpkins Cooper and Blakely finger painted. Good Lordy! Is this a joke. Evil mean hateful people are surround us in this world and you truly do have to watch your back. Julian still doesn't recall seeing anyone following him home. We do live so close to the ATM so it would be hard to know if someone was but still, he is bothered by the fact that he wasn't as aware of his surroundings as he should have been. I thank God that he's alright and that nothing else happened.
Cooper worked hard on his pumpkin. Mean kids!

It was definitely a Halloween we will never forget.
So tonight when you lock your front door and hold your babies close, remember that we are the ones. The parents are the ones who have a huge responsibility to teach our children compassion for others. We teach them love and respect for human life and for the things each person works hard for. We teach them kindness to strangers, love and belief in God. We teach them to be the wonderful person they "Should" grow up to be. To know better than to have hate in their heart and scare or hurt or steel from others.
These two little loves mean way to much to me to be having angry unhappy people threaten or scare us like that at our own home. Not ok!

Its a scary world we live in and it can happen to you. Never feel like you are excluded. Just be aware and safe especially when you have your kids out in public. You just never know.
I think its going to take us a little while to get over this. We live in a nice town, with wonderful neighbors and people surrounding us. This was just a random act of ugliness that happened to us. The officers said it was not common for our area at all. But it just showed us to be more cautious.
I do hope all of you had a wonderful Halloween. I' m loving seeing all the adorable costumes you guys put your little ones in :)

Oh my gosh! That's SO SCARY! I'm glad you guys are ok. It can be a very cruel world. And to top it off the took the precious pumpkins! I'm sorry that happened. On the bright side your kids look adorable in the pics! :)
Let me just start by saying, Blake and Cooper looked adorable on Halloween! What a cute idea :) I know K will be super shy as well when she gets older. Now.. I can't believe the robbery part! I am so sorry that you guys had to go through that. How scary. 2 years ago we had someone that broke into all of our vehicles and our neighbors and I felt THAT was hard to get over because I felt like my privacy was taken advantage of and this guy had stuff about me.. I can't imagine what went through your husbands or your head with that.. I am thinking of you guys and praying nothing like that ever happens again! Hopefully they catch the person that did it..
First~ Those costumes are soooo adorable!! How precious!
Second~ Oh my word!! That is terrifying!!
Wow that is SO scary!! I can not even imagine!!
On a side note- Blakely is too adorable!!
Oh no!!! That is awful. I am so thankful you guys were all ok! When someone robs you, they take more than money...they take your sense of security as well!
On a more upbeat note, the kids look positvely adorable!!
I adore your family to pieces. so beautiful and full of life.
This makes me sick to my stomach to hear.
There are some crazy, evil people in the world, and you are right, it is OUR job as parents to teach our children compassion and keep them far from people like this.
Such a fallen world we live in. :(
On a brighter note, Thank GOD no one was hurt and all that was taken was his wallet.
I had my wallet stolen a few weeks ago right out of my purse at work so I know what a pain in the butt it is to replace all that stuff.. but that's just it... it's replaceable.
The kids looked adorable on Halloween btw!
I am so sorry to hear that! Glad that you all are okay. Very scary! But your kids look adorable!
I love the costumes. Adorable. I cannot believe that happened! Thank God you're all okay!
Oh my gosh! That is so scary. I'm so happy that everyone is ok. That would freak me out!
Your little ones are so cute! I love their matching costumes! I'm surprised they didn't win best costumes. Blakely is getting so big, and has the cutest cheeks ever! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I am just so glad to hear that you are all ok!!!! How scary!
My son was Mickey too! Exact same costume!
I'm so sorry you went through that :( That is so scary.
But the kids looked adorable!! Such cute costumes!!
i still cant believe that happened right in your front yard like that...i am so thankful you all are ok and that punk really only wanted the wallet! and matt poo poos me when i get onto him about locking the front door!
1. Those little kiddos of yours look beyond cute for their Halloween extravaganza! I love it!
2. That robbery situation is out of control. At first, I thought you were going to say that it happened at the ATM, but at your HOUSE??? Too scary!
Oh my gosh how scary, glad everyone is okay.
